We are taking our first cruise-every-on Disney. My question is this we have a 13 year old and we always bring him a running partner. In this case it will be our 11 year old nephew. The idea of bring another child is for our son to have someone to hang out with. Can they participate in the same group activity or will they make them split up. I considered fudging the ages to be in the same group with the reservations but we need to bring their birth certificates for customs
Any help appreciated
ears to you...

Hi Linda ---
There are tons of kids programs on the ship, but the 8-12 year-olds are in one group at the 13-17 year olds are in another. Usually the activities are age-specific ... the 13-year-old might feel out of place in the younger group -- and I'm fairly certain that they won't allow the 11-year old to be in the teen group. However, you might want to call the cruise line (800) 951-3532 and tell them your situation. I think both kids will have plenty of time to hang out with each other -- but if they are apart, they also might have a better chance of making some new friends.
Good luck and let us know what happens :)

On the flip side of the same question - what is the very lowest age cutoff? We always take our 2 year old to DL and WDW - he loves it - but I am thinking there won't be a whole lot for him to do and see on a cruise. Am I right?

Good news for the little ones.
According to the DCL site ---
Group babysitting is available for children 12 weeks to 3 years old in Flounder's Reef Nursery, located on Deck 5, Midship. Guests must sign up their children on embarkation day. There is a fee of $6 per child per hour and $5 per additional child per hour, 2-hour minimum required. The facility is open for select hours every day. Rates and times subject to change. Space is limited. Services are subject to availability.
-- on a personal note, I've been through the nursery (adults can tour all children facilities for a few hours on embarkation day and it was adorable.
There are characters everywhere, a special kids pool, kid-friendly staff and kids menus.
