Did anyone ride Indy as a forward rollercoaster and how did it make the ride better or worse ?

How could this ride be any worse than it is??

This is one of the worst coasters I have ever been on. Going backwords...when you couldn't prepare for a twist or turn...made the head jerking unbearable.

I warn anyone I know, who is going to Disneyland Paris...avoid this ride...at all costs! (If you want to save your neck and head from injury and pain!).:(

Ditto what Peggy said. Ug. Yack. Thumbs down. Zero stars.

I have a feeling the ride was more enjoyable face forward.

Well knowing the current execs of the Walt Disney Company I would start "enjoying" Indy until they either switch the cars again or destroy it. ;)

It was a much smoother ride going forwards.

The changes made the cars go backwards, and added an extra 4 people to each train, up from 8 to 12.

Not being able to see where you are going does make it hard to prepare for the dips and loops. You head also seems to have far less support as you travel.

I also think that old age has taken it's effect on the track making it far less smooth than it was when it was new.

What all this adds up to is a very uncomfortable ride which always damaged my neck and made me feel ill.

I no longer ride it because of that.

I agree.

I went on this thing for the first time in October.

Not being able to anticipate what is coming causes unforseen head banging and such.

Another thing I'm surprised of is how they don't sell the INDY action figures there.. that you find in Fla and Cali

ANYTHING would be smoother than what it is like now. I can't imagine a worse coaster than Paris Indy. I LOVE DLP, but, boy, do I hate Indy. OUCH!

I have been on it both forwards and backwards. i do remember after the forwards time saying I would never ride it again because it was so jerky.

Of course next time I went it had changed to being backwards and I tried it again - big mistake - as bad either way.

Will they still be running it backwards in late January?

There are no plans to make it run forwards at the moment.

So you will get to ride it backwards in Jan.

On the subject of coasters that hurt like **** when you ride them.Whats happen to Space Mountain.I only went on the ride once during my trip in Sept, and hurt my shoulders and head badly. Its just become so rough to ride. And I rather just avoid both Indy and Space Mountain and either ride Big Thunder Mountain,or beter yet visit next door and ride Rock (N) Roller Coaster with no line at the Studios.

Actually RNRC has become my favourite coaster in Paris, but not my fav Disney coaster. That goes to California Screamin

First time I went to DLP I managed to ride Indy going forwards (they shut it about 2 days after we left to convert it to going backwards) and to be honest i found it rather tame and and at that point i wasn't very good on rollercaosters -it was only the second rollercoaster i'd ever been on

Having now ridden it backwards as well i think the ride is much better and scarier as long as you don't try and look behind you to see where you are going (then it does hurt your neck and back). For me the best time to go on the ride is at night when the park is lit upas the view on the way up is spectacular

when my dad used to work for DLP (about 6 years ago), indy went foward. it was alright, not really smooth. but my brother loved it. then they switched it backwards in like 2000, when i moved to france for boarding school. my friends and i went there a couple times. we went on indy once, and backwards, it's the most painful thing ever! we were 4 young girls, so you would think we could handle it, but it was so jerky. same with space mountain- it's fun, but you always walk off of the ride with the worst headache!

I've ridden it both ways and prefer forward.

At least with forward there is some anticipation of the thrill to come. And anticipation is a big part of any roller coaster type attraction.

Not knowing what's gonna happen next is usually not as fulfilling. Just boredom followed by slight surprise.

Indy Paris though...I agree that even forward, it's a pretty weak thrill ride.

I think Indy and Space Mountain are as painful as each other. If you are under 5'9" it is worse I think (my Mum won't go on them now, as she gets bashed around too much... she got bruises all down here arms from Space)

ogryn's patented riding technique: Pinch your ear loabs as you ride, that way your hands are in the correct position to cushion any sudden movement your head makes towards the restraint. Works for me, anyway. ;)

I still ride Indy only because doing a vertical loop backwards is such a unique feeling. It just feels totally wrong, and thus making it quite cool. :D
