I just got a new laptop and I'm looking for a good pop-up blocker for it. Any suggestions? There are just so many to choose from.

I like the Google toolbar. It blocks popups and also provides a spot to enter web search info. without having to load up the Google page first.

Google has worked for me lately. It works by site, so you can allow pop ups on a particular site if you want.

I used to use POW, but I had one BIG issue with an online payment system being blocked and I couldn't find the blocker in POW. :mad:

The very best one I have used is Ad Muncher (http://www.admuncher.com/). It blocks popups, banner ads, interstitials, and every other kind of intrusive advertising. It's free for a 30 day trial and then $25 gets you updates for life. Very configurable and the author is quite responsive.

I just use the Netscape 7.1 browser. It has a built-in popup blocker. Free. No charge. It's configurable to let through popups from sites that you designate. (Like MP!) ;-) And it works.

I've also found that the Google toolbar works very well. It is free and provides useful additional functionality as well.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. The Google toolbar is what I have on my other computer and it does work well. I was curious what else is out there. I may just stick w/Google though since it is free.

Mozilla has a good pop up blocker, its the open source of netscape. This rocks for me

I work for a Technical Support Company and I highly recommend the Google Toolbar. One drawback is that you may occasionaly have to disable it to login to certain webpages to launch.

Also, highly advice everyone to download Ad-Aware 6 to remove Spyware. Search for it at Doanload.com

Dogpile has a nice popup blocker now in it's toolbar.

For those that don't know, Dogpile is a multi-search engine search tool.

Give it a try - you'll like it!

Google toolbar is by far the best. In the two months I have had it, it has blocked 1921 pop-ups. Go for it!
