Im trying to view a video file on that I downloaded on Kazaa. All I get is a blank screen. When I hit play it shows that its playing, but nothing happens. Even the bar that shows you how far you into whatever your watching wont move. The person I downloaded this from said something about a codec (or something like that).
Anyone know how I can fix this problem?

It all depends on the video file, and how it was made.
A CODEC is basically a program that knows how to decipher (it comes from the words COde and DECode) the type of 'compression' the video file was created with. All digital video uses some type of compression.
If it's a newer video, I would guess that the codec you need is probably DivX. Go here (http://www.divx.com/divx/).
There is a way to find out exactly what codec is used for the video - it's a little program called Gspot, and that link is here (http://www.moviecodec.com/download/tools.shtml).
