do your children enjoy playing in the cars at Toontown?

Have you ever had a problem allowing you child play in them and then have other parents tell you to move your child because they want a picture of their child?

First come first served? Pictures take precedence over playtime?

I would think it would depend. Just as with anything else at Disney, it's only fair to take turns. If the children had only been playing a short time, then I think it's inappropriate to be asked to move for another child to get a picture. However, if they had been there quite some time I think it would be polite to let others have a turn whether it be to pose or play. I have, myself, asked to have a turn on Mr. Toad's car for a picture when I was certain the children had been there a very long time. Now we were only there a minute or two and they certainly could have waited and played more after our picture.

Our DD (3.5 then) wanted to play in the cars and fire trucks, but everytime she'd try, a parent with a child would hustle their child toward the car, gesturing with their camera. DD actually tried to get a child to play with her, but the parents kept working on a picture. We ended up steering DD away from the 'picture cars' to avoid the frustration. :-(

I think it's a little bit rude to ask other children who are having fun playing to move so you can take a picture. Another example is the big ant at MGM studios the Honey I shrunk the kids playground. Everybody wants to take a picture of their kid, and their kid only, on top of this ant, but, really! You would just have to be there to understand! There are what seem to be thousands of young kids running around in this play area, busy as a colony of ants! As a parent, my main concern is that my child have fun and be safe. It is unrealistic to try to get a posed portrait under those conditions. We were there recently with a 1, 4 and 5 year old, and one of the few safe places for the 1 year old was near the ant, but, apparently, it bothered other parents trying to take pictures for him to be under the ant while their kids were on top.
