Yet another one of my questions. I've got all the information but I need all of your opinions. (Please correct me for not posting in the correct location, I figured this would be better then the Tech area because its not about the internet or computers)

My friend would like me to get a Talkabout radio for Motorola. The first one I saw was TALKABOUT® T7200 NiMH http://commerce.motorola.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=248016&prmenbr=126&twoway_cgrfnbr=9&zipcode= I like this one, its got the good range and I'm planning on getting a GMRS license. The only thing I do not like about the T7200 is that it doesnt have VibraCall. This would be great if I was on an attraction and wanted to turn the volume way down but still be able to know when I'm getting a call from the vibrations. I have called Motorola and confirmed that it doesnt have it.
The second I saw was the TALKABOUT® T5950 NiCD http://commerce.motorola.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=255363&prmenbr=126&twoway_cgrfnbr=9&zipcode=
It does have Vibracall but it has half the wattage as the other one.

I'd like it if the T7200 had Vibracall but it doesnt. My question is what one would you get? Hopefully you guys can help me, and others may read this and learn also. Thanks for your imput. :)

Many years ago, MOT made some realy good stuff. In the last 5 years, their manufacturing has gotten really shaky. To be honest, they have forgotten what quality is all about. Ther batteres are terrible and their range will be shorter than what they stated. When I was laid off from there, I was really ashamed of the product we were producing.

Then what GMRS radio would you suggest?

Doesnt Garmin only make radios with GPS in them? I dont need that feature.

I just use my cell phone - most of the people I go with have one already (even my 2 oldest kids) - and I get better reception with it than I do with any kind of radio....

Yeah I've done that before but not everybody I go with has a cell phone(weird huh?). Radios would be easier too because you dont have to worry about minutes you are using on your cell. :)
