View Full Version : Cheap Eats article
cstephens 10-29-2003, 10:57 AM Great article, Lisa, and very helpful for those who aren't that familiar with the resort. My favorite cheap eats place is Whitewater hands down, both for the food and atmosphere. This'll be a good resource article to point to when people ask on these boards about inexpensive places to eat at the resort.
Two notes for the tech people: on the front page, the article is dated October 28 rather than October 29. Also, in the article itself, on the right side at the beginning, there's a section labeled "information", and the only thing in that section is the word "text". Wasn't sure you meant that to be it.
Thanks.
stan4d_steph 10-29-2003, 11:04 AM I agree. This article will be a good resource for people visiting. Also agree with the vote for Whitewater. The prices are good, and it's usually pretty quiet in there, so it's a good place to go talk with friends over a meal.
Still can't beat the beignets and cafe au lait at Brennan's even if their other portions have shrunk.
Good job Lisa!

Thanks, cstephens. I've fixed the tile date and am waiting for the correct text to place in the sidebar.
EandCDad 10-29-2003, 11:24 AM This Leslie Perkins fellow is quite a good writer. A very enjoyable article. (http://www.mouseplanet.com/more/mm031029lp.htm) He should keep it up. Cute kid in the pictures, too. Whatever you are paying that guy is not enough. Double it!
I'm a big Whitewater fan, too. I like the sandwiches at Brennan's.
Great subject, great execution!
Sigh. Now I have yet another writer to add to my jealous of list.
RStar 10-29-2003, 03:21 PM Oh, the Beignetts at Ralphs are great! I like the Gumbo Ya Ya as well. And the new Napolini is very good. Great salads and deserts. The sandwiches are huge, with very harty bread. Most people could split a salad and sandwich, a good meal for two for under $15.
BTW, what's the easiest way to get to Whitewater from the trams? I'm usually with a bunch that can't walk great distances and I don't want to just wander around looking for it (I'm a man, after all, and hate to ask people for directions!).
Alex S. 10-29-2003, 03:46 PM A bit of a hike. Walk back through Downtown Disney to the GCH entrance, and go to the lobby. Turn left and follow the walkway outside and past the swimming pool.
Turn right when the walkway does (at Napa Rose) and go all the way down past the DCA entrance, arcade, and gym. At the end of the walkway.

Yes, from the tram, it is a hike. However, if you are inside DCA, exit out the Grand Cal exit, make an end at the left of the hall and you're there in a few steps (it's on the left).
Ghoulish Delight 10-29-2003, 03:55 PM I love Napolini. The sandwiches are absolutely delicious, and filling. The only drawback is they do not give water cups, they only sell bottles. Not a huge deal, but I generally don't drink soda, and I hate paying $2+ for water. So if you are like me, you'll have to go to a drinking fountain, or maybe find another eatery that would be willing to give you a cup if you eat at Napolini.

:D
Thank you Miss Muse, and thanks everyone else.
GD, the only thing that bugs me about Napolini is that they offer *no* AP discount, which is unusual for DTD. Otherwise, it's a nice alternative to the other counter service places.
