Great article, Sheila!

I'm going to try to make one of the free self-guided tour days. That may be my only chance of actually seeing the place.

Thanks! Yeah, the new hall is definitely worth making a trip for....

A new little factoid I learned about the hall: Last night I attended the screening for the new Disney wartime animation DVD coming out and happened to chat with one of the Disney archivists responsible for maintaining Disney's huge collection of animation cels and art.

He told me that they were called upon to supply art for all the backstage dressing rooms for the talent at the hall. So they went and pulled all the art that was music-related to put on the walls. For example, one room has the animation art for the 101 Dalmations scene where Roger is composing his music.

Too bad the general public will never get to see this. :( But that just one of the many details they've gotten right when designing this building.

It's a real tribute to the Disney family's persistence (and their extensive gifting of money) along with other individuals who made the hall happen after 16 years of stops and starts.

Yes, Sheila, I have to concur that the article was wonderful and very interesting. I am also going to make it a point to tour the building on one of the free days. I'm so glad they are offering that "service".

Thanks!
