Here's an article (http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/031021/latu115_1.html) that was pointed out to me that I thought y'all would find interesting.

Dubbed "A Sudden Drop In Pitch" in keeping with the 2004 Rose Parade theme of Music Music Music... Will this float also set the record for the biggest stretch to fit the theme?

The float designs are often commissioned before the theme is announced, and many of the professional builders have a large portfolio of "designed-but-unsold" floats that they trot out every year. So there's a lot of "stretching" to meet the theme.

I've been out of the float world for a few years, but I think it might be time to find my old glue-stained decorating coveralls. I'll check into volunteer opportunities. If you've never decorated a float before, it's a blast.

[sarcasm bold]
But the parade fits DCA's theme.
It's a "California" parade, therefor, any floats replicating a DCA attraction can be done.[/sarcasm bold]

And lets not forget that this is another sign of things changing at Disneyland since Paul Pressler left. When he took over all connections between Disneyland and the Rose Parade stopped. There hasn't been a Disneyland float or "pre-show spectacular" (remember Toon Town?) since then. Now we have new leaders and all of sudden there is a float in the Parade. I love it!
