Home, exhausted, filled with happy memories :D

We had a blast! Despite the abismal choice of weather (what were you guys thinking), this was one of the best events to date. The puzzles were tons of fun, even the difficult ones. And, of course, second place certainly helped end the day on a happy note.

Quick history lesson. Mad Scramble 2002 in DCA, we got second place. Next Mad Scramble in Disneyland, we got first. Now, we have never placed in classic format. So here we are, at DCA, we get second place in classic format. So, the next classic format in Disneyland....... :D

And one final thought...I DON'T WANT ANY MORE CANDY CORN!!!!!

I, too, had a blast at this event. Met alot of padders (It was the fez, I tell ya :fez: ), solved some puzzles (after walking about 10 times past the board in front of GRR), and found alot of new things I didn't know existed. Great job, MousePlanet! :fez:

Amazingly enough, I too had a fantastic time! :D

The puzzles were awesome this time around. Lots of fun. Very interesting and well put together. Of course we didn't do perfectly....Now we know that there are lockers on the DCA side of the esplanade. You learn something new every time!

I'm glad everyone enjoyed the shirts....and I loved all the other shirts/costumes we saw today. :)

Congrats to the best new team - they got 3rd place in the Combined category! Most impressive.

Man, are we exhausted. Even on the non-timed version we still go really, really fast. I think I'll be in bed by 10pm.

I wanted to make a joke here or something, but my brain refuses to work anymore. Good night. :)

Very, very tired. <(pretend the eyes are closed)

Great puzzels, trivia, all of it! (Well, the eye-spies were a bit, uh, hard to see). We has a blast. But, let's do one in January next time, ok?

GD doesn't any more candy corn, and I don't want to hear the words "Candy Corn" for a while. It was the phrase most often heard by our team during competition. I have no idea why.

My fav. quote of the day? "Follow that Corn!" (one of our team members after realizing they were doing the exact same promblem on the ecact same quest as us :D)

I had a blast. Some of the more memorable momments include:

Being stopped at the entry gate in order to convince the lead that we weren't wearing costumes, we were wearing silly hats.

Being Chased by "Stanley" in the Hollywood Backlot, becasue we had "Stanley sized" candy corn.

Realizing at the end of the day, after taking off the candy corn hats, that I had aquired a "Candy Corn Tan" on my forehead

And the MaliBOOmers shirts were truely awsome (and if they don't post an image they should at least email me a copy ;))

Ok, so can someone PLEASE explain to me the freaking bricks??? Follow the path with Mickey's hands? Which whatever did you see the most?? WHAT? Seriously, we were about to quit right then if that was truly the easiest one. It seemed so vague to us so we had no idea what type of answer they were looking for so we couldn't even make an educated guess. Thankfully the rest were much easier for us, but at that point we were ready to pack it in. I just know the minute someone explains it I will be kicking myself.

We had a great time but now that our whole team has participated in an MA at both Dland and DCA, we all agreed that we prefer Dland so much more. And although the rest of the Dorks do not agree, I prefer the MadScramble for some reason.

In any event, thanks again to the organizers for an awesome day! It will never cease to amaze me how smoothly these events go, and how intricate the puzzles are. You guys did an incredible job yet again.

By popular demand...here are the Word documents from which we printed the t-shirt transfers. You'll want to right click the links below and do a "save target as..." And for the best effect, open them in Word and go to the print preview (it'll get rid of those annoying table borders and such). They are rather large files, so be patient.

Is MouseShoppe going to sell them ? ;)

BTW, if you look at the logo and ignore the "boo" part, it looks like it says " Mali Mers" - I tought they were called MalimArs. :p

Overall, I think the day was a great success! More inventive games and strategies than ever! Congratulations to the MaliBOOmers for finally placing in the classic format...I knew you guys could do it! Comments on my experience...

I shouldn't have been so quick to dismiss a question involving "disco inferno". :D After much searching, I figured I got the entire question wrong, and just passed. Actually, we didn't get any points for that area, which also included the license-plate game, and now I'm wondering if it was because we talked to a CM at the main board (which I doubt), or if there was a window for a photographer, instead of the window I put down (the Video Producer one). Got "snapshot"...figured I had the right window.

Whoever said the 2nd quest in the "A" section was tough to get an initial grip on...it was our last section of the day, and a quick glance made me feel sure the mural questions would be much easier to answer than that. I still have no idea where the starting point for that quest would've been. We didn't leave the park to answer the one question that required it, but I thought I had it by process of elimination...thought wrong. Oh well, I am still proud we found all the other things in the mural in just 10 minutes. :)

I was very happy to finally figure out the instructions on the Map Quest, at the very end of the day, but I think doing the last little bit in a couple of minutes was a bad idea. By then, my brain was just kaput, and my body was telling me it was naptime. :p

My mom and I had a ball, but she thinks we're all insane for doing this twice a year :fez: I'm definitely not going to make her do the Mad Scramble format! I eagerly await April, though, and the 90-degree weather :D

Oh...best shirts, ever!!! :D :fez:

The license plate puzzle was the one Ticket puzzle that we missed. Yes, there was one more window. We had it pointed out to us afterwards by a certain candy-wearin' team who managed to find it. It was around the corner and you basically had to get right under it, inside the Golden Dreams queue, to read it. Cable Car Photo Processing.

If we had gotten either that, or had we realized that there were lockers and Guest Relations next to DCA, rather than the Guest Service and lockers next to Disneyland, we would have taken first place :( Missed it by THAT much. Oh well, there's always next time :D

How do you find out how many points you got? Were we supposed to ask yesterday, or will the final scores be posted somewhere?

It was a lot of fun, but I had no idea there would be so much to do! We should have just focused on the ticket books, but we got overwhelmed by the other stuff:rolleyes: We had a break down in Bugs Land trying to find Heimlich's stamp. We actually rode the chew chew to try to find it, but we finally found the #$&@ kodak sign. But when we found the disco inferno and the cable car photo processing signs we were pumped!

Will the answers be posted anywhere? If not could someone tell me which was the item NOT on the Mulholland Madness mural. We put Oscar-like statue, but now I'm thinking it was the dam because it was really more of a faucet
