Reposting here, just in case any registered people missed it in their email:

Sign-in for MouseAdventure will begin at 9:45am.
Sign-in will be held in the picnic area to the left of Disneyland Park's entry gates.
Sign-in will continue until 11:00am.
Team photos will be taken through the sign-in period.
At 11:00am, all teams should gather where instructed (honestly, we're not yet sure where) for the large group photo
Teams then gather at the designated location inside Disney's California Adventure (you'll be told where at sign-in).
Instructions will be given.
The game will start as close to 11:30 as possible.
The game will end three hours after it starts (2:30, hopefully).
Winners will be announced (and prizes awarded) back out in the picnic area two hours after the game ends (4:30, hopefully).
You should all be on your way home by 5pm.
As a warning to everybody, we will be coming very close to our target registration of 90 teams, which will make this the largest (by far) event yet held. I know it is boring to just sit around waiting, but it would be very helpful if you showed up for sign-in as early as possible, and had your team photo taken right away (and if you don't want a photo taken, please stop by and let the photographer know, so we don't try to track you down later).

If your team photo is not taken before the game begins, we will be happy to do so after the awards ceremony. But that is a hectic time and people get missed.

A Couple Things You Should Already Know

I hope everybody already knows these two things, but I'm going to repeat them again because I don't want anybody complaining to me about them at the event.
This edition of MouseAdventure will be held in Disney's California Adventure. Not Disneyland Park.
This edition of MouseAdventure is our point-based Classic format, not our time-based Mad Scramble format.
If this isn't what you thought, or you have questions, please let me know.

Preparing

MouseAdventure is a rain or shine event. So far, we've yet to deal with rain, but an excessive amount of shine isn't uncommon. Check the weather and dress appropriately. A hat is strongly recommended, bring plenty of water, wear comfortable shoes, bring a snack (unless you are willing to stop and eat in the middle of the game - some teams do).

If you'll have young children, be aware that running randomly around the park performing incomprehensible (to them, hopefully not to you) tasks does not make for the most exciting day in the world. Prepare them for that, and try to have a backup plan if they become excessively uncooperative.

The only supply you need to do the game is a writing utensil. But you'll probably want to bring at least one clipboard. A ziploc bag is also not a bad idea for holding Scavenger Hunt items until you turn them in. Use of electronic devices to assist are not allowed. We recognize that you'll have cell phones, PDAs, and digital cameras with you, but if you are seen using them in ways that seem suspicious you may be penalized.

The Spirit of the Game

For some people, MouseAdventure is just a way to have a fun day at the park, and the competition aspect is just something in the background. For others, the competition is what makes it fun. All that we care about is making sure that at the end of the day as many of the 90 teams as possible will go home saying "that was just about the best time I've ever had at the park!" But please keep in mind that not everybody will have their fun in the same way as you. If you're the competitive type, keep in mind that others may not be, and that your good-natured trash talking may be misinterpreted. If you're the non-competitive remember that others are, and that a certain amount of aggressiveness goes along with that, try to shrug it off.

However, if something really harshes your mellow (I say that just so my wife will hide her head in shame as she reads this over my shoulder), be sure to let a staff member know so that we can try to fix it, or at least avoid it at the next event.

Well, I think thats about all. If you have any questions, please let me know. Emails that confirm your team information and give you a chance to fill in the holes will be sent out later today.

See you all on October 12! The game is made and has been tested and I think it is pretty good (if I do say so myself). Let's all have a great time.

My first MouseAdventure, and it has to be at DCA....

I hope it is three hours of what is behind the Cove Bar... but, the Cove Bar doesn't open until 2:30, so that doesn't work....

Oh well, I will have fun....:fez:

Is there enough room for our gigantic group photo in front of the giant metal sun in the front plaza at DCA? Or how about by the side of GRR, where the waterfalls are?

Anaheim, CA:

Saturday: A mix of clouds and sun. High 79F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph.
Saturday night: Fair to partly cloudy. Low near 60F. Winds light and variable.
Sunday: A few clouds in the morning, but mainly sunny. High 79F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.
Sunday night: A few clouds from time to time. Low near 60F. Winds light and variable.

So it looks like it might be warm tomorrow folks, put the umbrella in a locker and break out the sunscreen and a hat!

Other photo location ideas, my DH suggested in front of Superstar Limo, since nothing's going on there anyway!

Or, how about in front of the CALIFORNIA letters, making sure we are in front of the "AL" for Alex! :D
