I am attempting to fdisk and install XP on our "new to us" computer. It's currently running ME. (ew - I know)
I want to exit to DOS so I can fdisk and start all nice and fresh - but how in the heck to do I exit to DOS is ME?

I have searched high and low for this info - I don't have a start up disk. Is there any other way???

Side Note:
Well, IMHO, I don't think, at the time, ME was that bad. Afterall, when it first came out, it was only $49 for upgraders, and included a lot of features, at the time.
The reason why everyone was annoyed with ME, was that, everyone thought it was going to be the OS that combined 2000/9X kernals. However, once people found out that it wasn't that way, they got mad.
I still recommend to people with older computers, ME. Strictly, because all the little things, like ZIP folders, the Image Viewers, and little tools, it's better than 98SE. Also, I liked ME because it used the Win2000 explorer, which always seemed more stable to me. Also, I think it's the cleanest looking version ox the 9X opeerating systems.
ME was good for the time, but XP now rocks! :D :fez:

Yeah - we'd been running XP on our puter... then the power supply went out. We were thinking of getting a new one at the time - so it seemed like we might as well go for it. Then my Dad decided he needed a new one - and wanted to know if we wanted his. Since it is only 2 years old and had basically everything we were going to get - it seemed like the way to go.
So - he brought it over today but I'm not going to load anything on it until I put XP on it. (Why go backward, ya know - especially since he had the XP disk but just hadn't installed it.)
So - now I am formatting the drive and beginning anew. Pain in the butt - but exciting never the less. :geek:
