I admit that I don't visit the local mall often, but Disney Store that used to be there is now gone. It was replaced by a store called The Big Toy Box. Does anyone know how many stores have been or will be closed?

Lashbear 10-01-2003, 10:37 PM All the Australian ones have closed  :crying: hobo_n 10-02-2003, 08:41 PM We have a real nice on in SF(CA) and none of the one in the bay area are closeing. :D dshimel 10-03-2003, 12:48 PM Disney wanted to sell the chain, but no takers so far. As mall leases come up for renewal, many will just be closed. My daughter says there is no longer a Disney Store in Colorado Springs. unoriginal 10-03-2003, 02:53 PM Originally posted by hobo_n We have a real nice on in SF(CA) and none of the one in the bay area are closeing. :D Are you 100% sure about that? Have you asked the employees? If so they may not even know, I asked a few weeks before at the store that closed and was told there were no immediate plans to close down. I live in San Diego, this is just an extension of Anaheim for Disney. You figure that they would want the stores here, so don't be surprised if your stores start disappearing too. Nigel2 10-03-2003, 10:25 PM I have a feeling if your store doesn't get a decent draw or wasn't renovated then it's probably on the chopping block. I would guess, for example, the one in Main Place is not going anywhere for a while since they chopped off the gallery store and made it into a toy store like place, I think it's all white. unoriginal 10-05-2003, 10:09 PM Originally posted by Nigel2 I have a feeling if your store doesn't get a decent draw or wasn't renovated then it's probably on the chopping block. I'm not too worried, if it didn't make money it should be closed. I can't remember the last time I actually bought anything there. Disney stores as a whole haven't carried any adult dize clothes that appealed to me in years. I buy all my stuff throught the mail from the catalog these days. AVP 10-05-2003, 11:00 PM Lose, as in closed? Sort of - we had three in a 5-mile radius, now we only have 2. But, I feel like I "lost" my local Disney Store years ago, when they became toy stores and stopped carrying adult merchandise. So I guess it doesn't matter if the store is open or closed. Either way, I don't spend money there anymore. AVP |
