I will be traveling to WDW from 9-28-03 to 10-04-03. My 3 month dd and I will be meeting my sister and her family. What are some ways to protect my dd skin from the sun? Did you use lotion with sunscreen, sunscreen etc..??? We have a mid day break planned for every day.

As far as sun protection goes~
The sunscreen says not recommended for children under 6 months and they do not recommend sun for kids under 6 months.
That said, talk to your pediatrician and ask if there is something you can use.
Otherwise, just keep her out of the sun as much as possible, make sure she wears a hat and maybe even little baby sunglasses. :) Keep her skin covered but keep her cool, too. You will know in the different locations you are at what to do.
Definitely a stroller with a shade is a must as well as maybe one of those little kid umbrellas. I used one of those in addition to the stroller's shade. Just remember, shade.
Don't forget, feet burn quickly and the ears are very sensitive, too. That is for when she is older, I guess. I make sure and put sunscreen on their ears as once I didn't and let's just say I do now. :(
Have fun!
The key here is NO sun at all.

To reinforce what you probably already have done, check with your pediatrican's office for advice. However, as far as alternatives/additional coverage for babies, hats are great. We swear by flap happy hats and ones from Gymboree that have ties or even snaps under the neck so they don't take them off. They need a brim, but also want to see. The flap happy hats have a flap in the back that protects the neck- but are very light weight. My son looks like Laurence of Arabia in his (we now tie the ties behind his head as he has adjusted to wearing it). Additionally, long sleeve, long legged light weight clothing will protect most of the rest of a child. Because of heat- you will want loose! light weight stuff. A too large tee shirt can cover a lot too. For splashing around in the pools or fountains, we always put a big tee shirt on our kids over their suit. No coverage is full proof- it only buys you time. I am more careful than most because of the high incident of skin cancer in our family, but babies skin is very thin and a sun burned baby is a grumpy baby. Good for you for planning ahead.
