How many people actually use the picnic area to the left of the DL entrance as a way to save money during your visit to the park?

Our family has used this time in the past as a nice break from the frantic pace of a day inside the park.

I have seen quite a few families using the Picnic Area lately. And the Mouse Pad meets there sometimes. The picnic area has the largest lockers also. It's quiet, shady and a very serine place in a sea of noise and people rushing around like crazy people. I like to go there and read sometimes.

Just don't leave your coolers out please. Put them back in the lockers otherwise you will find you cooler at lost n found.

There's something to be said for getting your hand stamped. Breaking up the day is always a good idea for the long haul.

I'm Jewish. My family was very observant at one point, and we were kosher. We had to bring our own food. We would always try to smuggle it into theme parks but sometimes the CMs would catch us and force us to put it in an outside locker. So we'd hit the picnic area for lunch.

This was a long time ago - I barely remember it. And as I was an early teen at the time, all I felt was annoyed that we couldn't eat like "normal" guests. :| I'm sure in the future, when I'm dragging kids around, I'd be glad to take a break from Disneyland.

Wow, I was always under the impression that Disney served Kosher meals. This is an eye opener!
