Umm I forgot to mention something in one of the sections....Is there any way to go back to my survey??

Is it anonymous? I noticed it asked me for my username and password, which is why I ask.

Just curious.

yeah I dont think so, since I also had to put in my user name and password to do it. Thats why I thought there might be a way to do an addendum *shrugs*

I just hit enter to complete it and then a millisecond later thought of something else I wanted to type. *sigh*

I doubt the survey is anonymous, but, if it is, it is giving the impression that it is not. That alone with skew the results. (Channeling my Marketing professors):fez:

Dan would need to tell you more, but it's a pretty safe bet that since 1) you must log in and 2) it doesn't say it's anonymous it probably isn't. However, I'm also pretty certain that the info is being viewed only in aggregate.

I would hope that wouldn't prevent people from being truthful - the idea of the survey is to get your opinions, not to see if you can find the "right" answer.

Which brings me back to my original query...can I correct an answer?

Of course there's no "right" answer. It's a survey about thoughts, preferences and feelings. However, I know that many people would choose to "be not as candid" with their answers with a identified survey.

For example, Disneyland does surveys all the time. They don't ask your name or your AP number. They are interested in valid information and you get that with anonymous surveys.

With a named survey, people tend to hold back information that might be important to the survey originator.

Also, depending on the length of time the survey is available, the sample may not be large enough to get a true sense of the entire group. I've seen this mistake made many different times with unfortunate decisions as the results.

Survey creation is very specific. It was the subject of several weeks of study wayyyyyy back in marketing school. It was a while ago, but I do remember this….if you really want honest opinions, you create an anonymous survey.

I'm not sure what the reasons were behind conducting a survey on MP. Maybe these things are not important to the overall goal.

I'd say, seeing as it's not anonymous, you should just PM the addendum to a Mod, and they can have it added to your response ! :)

Since I'm the "survey guy", I guess I'd better drop in here and answer some questions.

Is the survey anonymous? Mostly. I'm not going look and see and who answered what, if that's your question. Nor will there be any names listed on the final analysis or reports. Nor will any of the raw survey data (i.e., you answers) by given or sold to anyone else.

The real reason I have you sign in is to make sure that only "real" users of MousePad are being surveyed, and also because it's a very easy way to make sure you're only taking the survey once!

Plus, then we can easily identify who wins the prize! :)

How can I change my answers? Contact me, I guess. You can PM me with what you want changed and any additional comments, or I can reset your account and you do the survey again.

Anything else I can answer?

How do I make the popup go away for good? I already took the survey (Do my responses even count?) but it keeps "bugging" me. :)

I have recently cleared out my cookies, but I don't remember if it was before or after I took the survey.

I find that Pow works decent enough for my anti-popup needs.

Linkage? Ad Muncher (http://www.admuncher.com/) is by far the best popup and ad killer I've used, and I've tried quite a few. It's configurable per-site, by the way, so you can still allow MousePlanet to show ads (as you should, being good MousePlanet readers).

I don't think I have the link, but I heard about it right here in this forum, so you should be able to search and find it fairly quickly.

You tell it exactly which ads to kill. And it only works on pop-ups, so I'm still seeing MP's banner ads. (The pad hasn't had pop-ups for a long time, IIRC--excluding the survey one, of course, and that's not an ad.)
