I apologize, I'm sure this has been asked multiple times, but we're WDW veterans who are heading west in 2 weeks! We have 2 sons with cerebral palsy (one in a wheelchair), and I was wondering in general what are some suggestions about the best place to stake out a spot to watch the fireworks? And what time do we generally have to be there?

We'll be going the week before LaborDay, just for the info.

I posted this on the general board, and most people said to be near the Hub. Is that going to work for my DS in his chair? And how soon do we need to be there in advance to "stake out" our spot?

Thanks, in advance!
Wade

Many parts of the hub and Main Street are obscured by trees, so you have to position yourself right. Plus, some people have a habit of standing up or moving into the space in front of wheelchairs when the lights go out. If it is crowded and you are late for a good spot, you might want to try being over on the Fantasyland side of the castle, between the Carousel and Mr. Toad.

Hi Wade,

There are three good places to watch Believe where you won't have someone standing in front of you.

The first is directly in front of the Castle. They put a rope across this area, to keep people out of the fallout zone for the off-Castle pyro. If you get there just as they put this rope up, you get a pretty decent view of the show. You will miss the lower bursts and some of the "nine line" effects, but you get the best view of the Castle and Tink.

If you watch the earlier Fantasmic! from the lower seating area long the Rivers of America, you can stay and watch the fireworks from there. This requires a bit of waiting, as you'll need to grab seat at the back of the lower viewing area, right in front of the rope. This starts to fill up hours before the show. They don't always pipe in the Believe music to this area - it seems to work less often than it does, but the view is great.

My personal favorite spot is in front of "it's a small world." You can usually grab good seats here 30 minutes before the show - just head around the corner towards the parade gate. If you position the wheelchair towards the back of the seating area, you won't block any sight lines. The fireworks look HUGE from this area. The tradeoff is that you get just a glimpse of Tink as she flies off the Matterhorn (and you'll need to look behind you to see that) and you won't see any of the Castle pyro.

What I would NOT do is go anywhere on Main Street proper. We've done that a few times when Tony has been using a wheelchair, and people have absolutely no problem standing right in his face - what a great view.

Have a great trip!
