Among the quaint kiddie rides and exotic manicured flora at Gilroy's Bonfante Gardens, there are no visible signs that a theme-park powerhouse has taken the reins.
Indeed, the recent marriage of the non-profit Bonfante Gardens Family Theme Park and the behemoth Paramount Parks chain appears to be in a happy honeymoon phase. The once struggling countryside attraction is finally out of the red.
``I don't think we would have been able to open again this year,'' said Bob Kraemer, chairman of the Bonfante Gardens board, ``if we didn't find the relationship we have with Paramount.''
