Pixar Speakers 7:00-8:30 pm
Reception and mingle 8:30-9:30 pm
Pixar Animation Studios is pleased to host a special event to benefit the Cartoon Art Museum on Saturday, August 23, 2003. The evening takes place at Pixar's Emeryville campus. Over wine and hor's d'oeuvres attendees will see a stunning gallery exhibition featuring the pre-production artwork for the Walt Disney Pictures presentation of a Pixar Animation Studios film, Finding Nemo.
Guests will then be escorted into Pixar's state-of-the-art 240 seat theater to hear the artists and wizards behind Toy Story, A Bug's Life, Monsters, Inc., and Finding Nemo talk about how the movies really get made. Special guest speakers will include:
Dr. Edwin Catmull (Co-Founder and President of Pixar)
Pete Docter (Director, Monsters, Inc.)
Jeremy Lasky (Director of Photography, Finding Nemo)
Dylan Brown (Supervising Animator, Finding Nemo)
Dr. Steve May (CG Supervisor - Sharks/Sydney Unit, Finding Nemo)
Dr. Michael B. Johnson (R&D Film On Line lead).
After the presentation, guests will have an opportunity to converse with the speakers and other Pixarians at a reception including plentiful appetizers and drinks in Pixar's magnificent atrium.
Pixar Animation Studios is located at 1200 Park Avenue in Emeryville, CA. Gates open at 5:30pm. Free parking is available on site.
This event will sell out quickly and there are only a limited number of seats available. Cartoon Art Museum members can purchase tickets for the reduced rate of $125, while the non-member rate is $175. Save money and become a member of the Cartoon Art Museum today!
