Howdy,

While posting a thread, someone asked me if I would do a trip Report on my upcoming visit to DLR. If I go ahead and write it up should I post it under the "Disneyland Resort" Discussion? I would assume so, but I recall reading trip reports elsewhere on the site. Just want to be sure.

I'm still new at this, and I don't know all the ins and outs yet. Thanks for any info!

As it says on the "contact us" page, trip reports should be sent to Alex Stroup (http://www.mouseplanet.com/php/mailform.php?topic=astroup). They'll be posted on the main site.

Cool. Thanks...

BTW - I enjoyed your articles, "Windows on Main Street". I was thinking about doing something similar on the Disneyland Main Street Windows, unless someone else is working on it.

They have reader-submitted trip reports about Paris and Tokyo (see the MousePlanet site map). When we talk about a trip report, what we mean is to post in the Disneyland forum about your latest trip to the park.

Thanks! I'm enjoying writing them. Part three (the last part) should be up next Wednesday. I'm putting the final touches on it now.

There's nobody here that's working on a Disneyland version that I'm aware of, but there is a very good set of pages on it at another site, so I'm not sure if we want to duplicate that or not. My recommendation, if you'd like to write an article or two for us, is to send a note to writer-inquiries@mouseplanet.com and complete a writer interest form.

Nope. Check it again. Under "Section Editors and Managers," the last entry is for Trip Reports, and it's got a mailform to send them to Alex. It sounded like Dominguez Grove was interested in writing a regular Disneyland trip report as is posted on the regular site. (We put up reports for trips to any of the Disney parks and/or resorts, and actually, we can use a few more in the queue right now.)

But it is certainly ok for you to write and post your trip reports both here on MousePlanet (or anywhere else, many people put them on USENET long before we can get them on the site) and also send them to me for inclusion in the trip report archive.

And you can do a trip report for just about any Disney related destination. We'll find a way to accommodate it, even if it doesn't fall into a normal category (one of the park, cruise line, or DVC resorts).

Just realized that I missed something.

If you want some more ideas on how to write a trip report, check out the trip report index page (http://www.mouseplanet.com/dtp/trip.rpt/) and look at the writing and posting instructions links. Brian wrote up some really good information there. Also, check out Mike Scopa's column on how to write a trip report (http://www.mouseplanet.com/mike/how_to_write_a_trip_report.htm).

Thanks fellas...

I'm not sure I'll be able to write this up (my schedule keeps me pinned down), but if/when I do, I know where to post.

I'll add the advice that if you look at those articles, just treat them as very loose suggestions and write the actual trip report in your own voice.

The trip reports that I find most interesting to read are the ones that reflect the personality of the writer. I'd much rather read a trip report that is in the voice of the person taking the trip than one that looks like it was written according to a style guide. Even if the result is a trip report that rambles a bit, I'm much more interested in one that tries to capture the experience instead of just describing the place.

Ramble when writing a trip report? Who, me? Never!

Did you actually believe me? ;)
