Just wanted to say great article and great idea for an article. I'm not a specific collector myself, though I have a few from Disney and a few from other parks. I especially like when I find new ones, like the recent ones for "Finding Nemo". It is a cool, fairly inexpensive hobby, and it's fun to watch the kids watching the machines.
I think it was at Magic Mountain that we noticed pressed penny machines that are hand operated. We thought those were rather funny because the park wasn't even paying for the electricity for it to work - it's your own manual labor.
Slightly OT - to whom should we send email/PMs/whatever if we have article suggestions? I've been meaning to send something but hadn't gotten around to figuring out to whom the suggestion should go. Thanks.

Thanks for your kind words about the article. :)

Nickolas and I have just started to collect the pressed coins in July. It is a lot cheaper than going the pin route.
Something that not too many people may be aware of (even cast members), Main Street Bank no longer has a pressed penny machine. We were directed there by a very nice CM (she even went thru her drawer for new shiney pennies). I knew that they had the machine from reading MP over the years. The teller at the bank said that since the bank changed sponsership, the new bank owner pulled out the machine.
Thank you for a great article, very timely too!!! The link for the current list of machines is perfect!!!

My girls have been doing the penny thing since we went to WDW in 2000.
Their collection hobby has escalated this past year, on every trip to DLR.
We have two books filled now...and are starting on the third. My girls love running from pressed penny machine to another pressed penny machine...all over the park.
It's fun...not expensive...and they love it. I am happy...because this means one less stuffed toy to bring home!:D
While in line for the Blue Bayou one evening, we met a couple who are also 'collectors'. These nice gentlemen took out their books so they could compare with my girls collection. Seeing that others collected as well, made my girls even more excited to continue on in their "hunt" for more pennies.
Luckily...we don't have every one in the park...yet. So, they still have more pressing to do...:D

And the links were great too. I can see how they can become an obsession--it makes me want to pack a bag of pennies and quarters on our next visit. :)
