Does anyone know when and why they shut down those "club Disneys" they had them in thousand oaks and west covina.

Quite a few years ago. Lack of business I believe. I wish they were still open though. I liked it.

What was it?

I went to one years ago before I had my daughter. It was really cute...sort of like a combination between Chuck E. Cheese and Innoventions (though not terribly hi-tech). I wish they were still around...I'd take my dauther there all the time!

That and the Mickey Mouse Club became a midriff dance club.

Lack of high profit margins leading to a longer than acceptable payback of capital expense. I know a great many people laid off from the company because of this venture. Disney is now subleasing most of the buildings to other businesses. Thousand Oaks, the first Club Disney, is a sporting goods store. The last I heard, Disney was planning to change a few of them into ESPN sports bars, but that was before they shut down the Disney Regional Entertainment division.
