For a first, we are flying into John Wayne. It is only an hour flight from here. We will be taking the Anaheim Bus Motor Coach from the airport to Paradise Pier. Has anyone used this service before?
We can't use a taxi or supershuttle since we won't have car seats with us and although I have friends who have used limos without car seats, I am not comfortable with that. The motor coach do not require car seats and we've held our kids on bus rides in Europe, so we have that down.
Any tips?
I'm going to move this to the Parenting in the Parks forum because I think, while you want to know about motor coaches, your primary issue has to do with what you think is a limited option because you aren't using a car seat.
If you are flying, how is it you do not need a car seat for the airplane? I thought they were requiring those these days?
A motor coach from Orange County Airport (John Wayne) is fine, and not too long. Half an hour tops.

My son is in a booster seat. Booster seats are not FAA approved because they do not have the independent 5 point harness belts. They rely on the over the sholder belts found in cars but not in planes.
For flights less than two hours, we debate on getting an extra seat for our daughter or lap. Since the flight is only an hour, she will sit on Daddy's lap, in the baby bijorn or sling for extra security.

The Airport bus works great from John Wayne.
Tiki have you checked with the most current rules from the Airline?
Just wondering, sometimes these things change. I thought I heard somewhere you can no longer have a child in your lap.

We just flew in June with our three year old in a seat belt. Like so many others have said on the boards - the airline (Alaska) woudn't let us use the car seat. It's so frustrating navigating changing rules and regulations while just trying to make sure that your children are safe!!
More on topic - we took the motor coach from John Wayne to Hojo and it worked great. About 20 minutes in 5:00 PM traffic - it was a breeze!
