We are going to Disneyland the last of August. My roommate is unable to walk or stand for long periods of time. We are renting a wheelchair at home for the trip, but I was just wondering what policy Disneyland now has for guests with disabilities. I know that you use to be able to provide a letter from your doctor for a special pass. Does Disneyland still require a letter from your doctor..?? Unfortunately my roommate doesn't have medical insurance at this time, so she is unable to get a letter from a doctor.

in disneyland, all you need to do is ask of a sap (special assistance pass)... they don't need a doctor's note or anything... in fact, they can't even ask for one...
i'm not exactly sure where you get one, but someone else here can probably tell you... :)

As of my last visit in January, the SAP's were issued at City Hall in Disneyland and at Guest Services at DCA, however.. if you plan to rent a chair at the parks be aware that you can't use it to cross from one park to the other.
Incidentally this topic is more appropriate for the Theme-Park access Guide forum, so I'm moving it.

Yep, that's still true. And, you don't need one from each park. One pass is good at both parks.
Just as a tip, Guest Services at Disney's California Adventure is much more easily accessible than Town Hall in Disneyland, since there are no ramps or inclines to negotiate, and rarely any lines. :)

Actually, If you get another pass (can't remember what it was called) you can take the wheelchair across. I think you also had to leave your driver's license but I'm not totally sure. Anyways, you should be able to get it if you tell them that you were planning on park hopping. I only found out about it because my mom and i were planning on going to DCA right after we got the chair lol. Anyways (wow I really do say that a lot lol) I hope I've been of some help here :)
Just a quick note for anyone staying on-site. You can use one of the wheelchairs from either of the 3 hotels also in DCA & DL. All we had to do was give a signature at check in.
