I plan to go to DL this September with my husband and 2 kids (2 and 4). I though it is better to go for a 4 nites and 5 days hopper but my husband think 2 nites and 3 days hopper is enough.

Can any parent with kids this age let me know is 5 days too long ? I though we should take our time.

I have three girls, ages 8, 5, and 2 and we have done many 5 day trips the past six years. Anything less than five days doesn't feel like enough to me!

It seems like we get "the most" done the first day, the second day we repeat a bit of the first day's rides and branch out into new areas/lands. The third day we go to DCA. The fourth day is back at Disneyland doing some repeat attractions and shows and the fifth day is spent doing the list that my girls make up.....usually a lot of Pirates, Autopia, and Small World. ;)

We relax if we go five days. Once we went for three days and we didn't have the greatest time--we felt very rushed.

One of the pleasures of DLR for me is the time spent noticing little details, or lingering over a meal in New Orleans Square or strolling through Main St.

It helps that my kids are extremely gung-ho. They love the rides, crowds and lots of action and are total Disney Dorks like their mommy. We don't even take breaks and have NEVER gone back to our hotel for a swim mid-day, as most families do. My kids just go go go.

On our last trip in April, my five year old and I snuck in a sixth day while the rest of our family went to the beach. :D And that STILL wasn't enough for us!

So, it's definitely up to your family's attitudes and what your kiddos can handle. Have fun with your planning! (Also, the fall is a great time to go, and your kids are the best ages for Disneyland!!!) :)

We're going in 1 1/2 weeks and we have a 3 year old (just turned 3) and a 19 month old. Originally we were only going to get a 2-day pass. But then changed out minds and got the special they have running now where you get 5 days for the price of 3.

We figured this way we won't have to rush and if the boys are tired we can go back to the hotel, rest, then come back later. I think it's important for little ones to take breaks throughout the day. Otherwise you wind up with crabby kids and crabby parents.

What ever you decide to do, I hope you have a wonderful time!

Just a head's up on the 5 days for the price of 3 deal. This deal cannot be purchased at the park, it has to be purchased through a travel agent or AAA or elsewhere. I wanted to buy it for a friend on Tuesday and was told they didn't do that there.

I would say less than 5 days with those ages is not enough. It's a pace thing - if you have more time, you don't feel like you're wasting time by taking naps, etc.....

Also, if your kids love dumbo and want to ride it 10 times in a row, there's no stress in feeling like you have to move on to see it all.

You can also stop and meet all the characters, etc....

When we first took our daughter at 2.5 yrs old (she's 9.5 now), 5 days was perfect with just one, and that didn't even include anything in DCA.

Gotta agree with the others, 5 days is perfect! My boys are 8.5 and 4.5 and that's a great time for them. We went in April for that time and it was great and then in May we were there for 2.5 days and man it just seemed so rushed!!

Thanks for all your replies. Now I just have to convince my other half to go for 5 days.
