Disney Workers Can Now Wear Cornrows, Backless Shoes (http://www.local6.com/news/2327291/detail.html), Local 6, 7/11/03

The Walt Disney Company has once again relaxed its employee dress code. In a sweeping decision, the company has announced that:

- Male employees who do not wear costumes no longer have to wear button-down shirts, but can also wear crewneck, turtleneck, mock turtleneck and three-button collared sweaters.

- Male employees can wear braids, as long as they are close to the scalp and shorter than their collars.

- Female employees can wear small hoop earrings.

- Females can also wear open-toe and open-heel shoes and shoes with just a strap at the heel.

The last time the company relaxed its rules was in 2000, when it allowed men to wear mustaches.

I know, I know, freedom of expression. But this was originally to be Walt's getaway from the outside world!
