This is a summary of e-mail I received from the Orange Empire Railway Museum (http://www.OERM.org) members' newsletter editor:

Your family might enjoy washing a streetcar. We have lots of people, lots of supplies and a 30' x 60' slip n slide. We'd love to have you and any friends you want to bring. There are jobs for all ages and it's a very family-friendly event.

There will be two car wash events at the museum: Saturday July 26 and September 20th, between 3:00 and 4:00. They will wash Red cars or Yellow cars that are part of the Museum's extensive collection.

That same evening is Member Trolley Night where members can try their hand at operating a real trolley car around the loop.

OERM is also home to the Grizzly River Flats Railroad, sponsored by the late Ward Kimball. Ward contributed extensively to the museum, both financially and by donating pieces from his private collection. For more information about the museum, including directions and information about memberships, visit the OERM website linked above, and/or you may want to read this article (http://www.mouseplanet.com/akrock/akrock25.htm) here at MousePlanet.
