Hi neighbor! Ceres Unified has been taking the week between the president holidays for a while now. This has been one of our annual disneyland trips for several years. I have noticed a steady increase in the crowds every year but it has never been what I would call crowded (knock on wood!). MCS having the week of the 20th off is different. I wonder if they still have Lincoln's birthday (2/13) off?No they don't. One of these years we will go around then because my DDs bday is the 21st. All the other kids have had a Disney trip around their bday but her....and she's starting to ask for it every year. :)

We are planning to go the week of Feb 13-17.

Here are the closing times for the Mon.-Fri. you're there:
Feb. 13-17: 9pm, 9pm, 8pm, 8pm, 12am

versus
Feb. 20-24: 12am, 10pm, 10pm, 10pm, 12am

Assuming the premise that Disney bases operating hours on crowd foreecasts, it appears you picked the right week.

We may not be So. Cal., but I know A LOT of districts in Western Washington have the whole week off of 20th - we call it Mid-winter break. Lots of others have the Thurs/Fri before and that Mon/Tues. I know a lot of people planning trips down to Disneyland that week. The weather has been pretty miserable here and lots of people are trying to escape to sunnier times. :) So, residents of So Cal may not be going, but there will be quite a few travelers from the north, I'm sure!

Looking at the AP calendars can give you a pretty good idea of how busy it will be. We were not blocked out for MLK even though it was a long weekend. It was pretty busy too, though not unbearable. We are blocked out for Pres weekend. I think many states have extended holidays for that weekend.

I work for a school district in Northern California. We have the entire week of Feb 20-24 off.

My daughter attends a private school in a neighboring district and she only has one day off, Monday, Feb 20th. So it really is varied.

Turlock (south of Modesto) is off Thursday 2/16 to Monday 2/20. Legend has it that a previous Superintendant was a ski nut and engineered a long ski weekend :)
