Question about World of Color [FastPasses]

So, me and my family is going to Disneyland on December 27th, 2011. We are going to do a one day park hopper. So.... many of us want to see World of Color. It's says on the Disneyland website that DCA opens at 10 am and Disneyland opens at 8 am. And i read somewhere that you need to get fastpasses for world of color. Does that only pertain to the first showing, or does it also pertain to the second showing. The main problem is that we have 8 people in our group, and if all of us wants to see world of color, how should we work getting the fast passes. Should we maybe have like one person got to DCA when it opens to get the fastpasses, or should like we like all head to DCA at opening or maybe a bit later. It's weird because if the person who goes to DCA at opening, they would only spend 2 hours at Disneyland. I'm just basically asks more about getting the fastpasses for them, if they are required for the second show. Thanks

Yes, they will need FP for all shows that week of WoC due to high crowds. I would head to DL and send one person over with all the tickets to get Fps.

What needs to be stated is all will have to enter DCA with their ticket in order to get FPs. Each ticket must be scanned at DCA entrance to obtain a WOC FP. I would suggest all enter DCA together. Then hand tix to one person to go get the FPs. As long as you enter early there should be no problem getting FPs fir everyone in the group.

Last time we went to Woc we were told by CMs at dland that we must all enter DCA due to their systems being different. This was even with APs. Unless the systems have changed in the last few months. Last time we got Woc tix was in September.

Last time we got Woc tix was in September.The CMs were giving out bad info then. The FP system simply requires entry into one park. Then you can use a FP runner to go to the other park to collect FPs, whether it is WOC or Screamin' or Star Tours... It has been that way since the beginning.

We have always been told that Woc FPs needed entry to DCA on each ticket. That's why we have always entered together regardless of going to dland first. Have been told this by multiple CMs in both parks. It would have been nice to know before. I am in wheelchair/scooter and it would have been easier on me and my husband to be able to just have him run over and not have to push me. Or deal with crowds and mobility. I would seriously check with city hall on this one. Seeing as city hall has in the past been the the original CMs that we asked and main reason I posted this info. Even when we took our nephew they told us all our tix needed to be scanned at DCA when I mentioned to my hubby to run and get them and a CM overheard me. (First time seeing woc. It was about a year and half ago) so I checked at city hall and they said same thing. I know about all other FPs that's why I told him to run and get the woc ones.

I'm sorry it sounds like you're getting bad information ImAlwaysCrazy, I know from personal experience that the tickets/annual passes only have to be scanned for entry into ONE of the parks, not necessarily DCA. I'm the designated 'runner' for our group and we traditionally go into Disneyland, I collect everyones passes/tickets and at about 20 minutes prior to official DCA opening I head over to get in line, go thru the gates, head to the fastpass area for World of Color, get all our tickets, run over to California Screaming and get fastpasses for that attraction and then head back to Disneyland to rejoin our group. Our last trip was in October of this year so unless they've changed the policy since then I know that the information that Mal and I ares sharing is accurate.

The FP machines are the GR machines, simply fed with WoC paper until they run out. They are no different than Soarin' or Screamin' and as such, only require the pass to be activated in one of the two parks.

I think MS and I are in agreement with how often CM information ends up being incorrect.

Well that's good to know. Again like I said this info was right after woc opened so I have been going off that info ever since. Im glad to know that I can just send my hubby. Our passes expired two weeks ago :( but we will be getting them again in february. So thanks for the info! Now it wont be su h an inconvenience for us and we can send a runner!

I think they pass along this mis information to prevent FP runners.
We were told the same thing this last trip. We were all there anyways so didn't matter to us.

Another suggestion is to ALL GO to DCA at 10 pm and send ONE runner to get FPs and the rest high tail it over to TSMM as it has NO FAST PASS and is an awesome ride! Then you can enjoy DCA for a bit and head back to DL when you all see fit. If you are there on a weekend don't miss the MARIACHI DIVAS set as they are the mostest awesome performers! The MINER 49ers are great too but play longer into the day so you could catch them later.

You can also buy the ON LINE PICNIC lunches and get FP tickets to WOC and not worry about going into DCA until later( This is a great food option in the sense that you can pick it up whenever you want to when you get hungry!) or if you are foodie types you can get the PRI FIXE meal at WINE COUNTRY TRATTORIA and get WOC tickets. So many options!

two days till we leave!!! There has been a slight change in plans, only three of us (me, my sister and one of my cousins) will be parkhopping, so i guess all three of us can hop to DCA and get World of Color Fastpass
