Sorry if this has already been posted here but I just felt this was SO amazing it had to be shared.

The TDR is selling advance tickets for a month ahead as each day goes by. Incredibly, as the days become available they are selling out at once-50,000 tickets per day are being snapped up!!!

Over 700,000 already.

Those in the know claim that TDS will EASILY sell one million tickets before the ribbon cutting on September 4th!!!

Looks like the WDC picked the WRONG park to arrange an overnight sleepover for, huh?

Can this thing get ANY MORE fever pitched???

First stop for me on October 17 is Mysterious Island and JttCotE!!!!

Brad,

Just curious how you are planning to buy your advance tickets, or are you going to take a chance and get them at the gate?

geeejus, how far ahead can a person buy tickets? maybe I should buy now for next year, really this is becoming an unprecedented event unlike anything ever before in Disney history. I too have seen the figures and I am extrapolatining that the first three months will be sold out in the next couple of weeks, this isn't hype or cheerleading but numbers and some other info strongly suggest that this may happen, and I would foresee that the park will have 75-85% capacity for its first 6 months possibly slowing down in february and that is when the best resort rates are the most affordable. Wow and they thought DCA was going to be like this, anti-walt really must have thought the american guests were single digit IQ and would flock to his land of milk and honey, gawd this sounds almost like a recreation of ancient history repeating itself,

Hi guys!

In answer wtg-although the MiraCosta was prohibitively expensive(Sorry, I know you Americans think NOTHING of shelling out $400 per night for accomodation but that translates roughly to $800 AUS and that in my mind is just ridiculous!), we have managed, with the help of a kind soul in Tokyo to book accomodation at the Hotel Shinurayasu which is a Disney affiliated hotel.

After that reservation was made, we were then able to book our actual park passes(but only as much as a month ahead)for TDS.

These we bought in the form of the "4 Day Magic Passport"-also the maximum number of days that the TDR will sell in a bulk form.

The cost of the passport was 17,200 which roughly translates to $US143 or $AUS268.

I am not sure whether Americans would consider this expensive for four days at their choice of two different parks but please remember-this is TDL and TDS we are talking about. We are NOT considering these prices in relation to the dinky little funfair set up in the parking lot at Disneyland!!!

And Mr. D-this is not really an unprecedented event. A very similar thing happened in 1983 when TDL opened. Tickets were booked out in some cases for six months(and I have even heard a YEAR)ahead!!!

The really strange thing when considering the Japanese obsession with all things Disney is why it took SO LONG for TDS to be built at all!

If I was willing to spend $254 US a day to stay at the Disney Institute in WDW then I would pay more to see TDS and TDL, I was not aware of the ticket sellout of TDL, eisners news blackout must have been in effect, hopefully now that the internet has grown and news is just a click away and cannot be censured we can enjoy hearing about Walt Disney's 21st century achievements.

Yes Mr. D-the rebel alliance is growing against the Emperor and his Evil Apprentice(PP).

Nothing can stop us now.......
