I've never been to Tokyo Disneyland, but from what I hear, their "Pirates of the Caribbean" has everything that Disneyland's has.

So how could it be better, you ask... if it has the same things?

Well I am told there is a big difference. Disneyland updated their PIRATES to be politically correct circa 1997; scarring the original. But Tokyo's PIRATES still has the old politically incorrect scenes... making it possibly more like the "original" than the original.

Combine that with TOKYO DISNEYSEAS, superior Disney Toys, and long-available copies of "SONG OF THE SOUTH"... and things sound pretty good over there. I need to go.

I've heard the same thing too.

They have the BLUE BAYOU and everything... PLUS (as you said) the old scenes are still intact.

One thing I don't think that I would like about Tokyo's PIRATES (uhnless I'm wrong here) is that the whole thing is in Japanese.

To me, the talking skull and crossbones, the captain, the guy with the kittens etc... would all sound like they are speaking gibberish... to my ears anyway.

Tokyo Pirates is mostly in English. The safety speil is of course in Japanese, as is the talking skull before the drop. But most of the rest is in English. Notably, "Yo ho yo ho, a pirate's life for me" is the original version, and even the trash-talking pirate in the battle scene uses the original English soundtrack.

It's very similar to the Anaheim version, with the added bonus of not having been "sanitized" to be P.C. One big difference is that the unload station is separate, and is on the lower level before the boats return to the boarding level. Also, the ceiling in the boarding room / Blue Bayou is perhaps lower and much more visible. Although it's still all black, you can see more of the false ceiling and ductwork.
