Let me think of the right word.....YES ..now that I have that out of the way, let me tell you why....

1. Front of the line pass to all shows or best seats to shows
2. Special back stage stuff at waterworld and Spiderman
3. Discounts off food and stuff ( Same as people with the
yearpass)
4. Did I tell you you don't have to wate for the shows!!!!

Do it once and you will be set for about a year, then try it again.

The VIP Tour is more then getting to the front of the line. You can buy a Front of the Line pass and get the same things for half the money.

VIP is a more in depth look at the theme park, and... the backlot YOu have a private guide in a small group and they spend about 6-8 hours with you.

It is pricey, about $125 each person and kinds are not allowed under 5.

If you like being walked aorund and escorted by a guide, learning tid bits about the park and studio, then its great!!!

$99 specials are run all the time. Ask.
Don't go on Sunday as the Prop Dept. is not open for touring. :-(

ASK if the VIP INCLUDES a FULL Annual Pass...ours did! And they didn't say so...we just happened to ASK!

It was a great $99 well spent for each of us and we are still benefiting.

That must have been during the Buy A Day Get A Year free promotion. If you paid full price for 1 day admission you got a pass to come back for a year. It wasnt a full pass it did have blockout days on it.

However, this was only done for people who asked or got mad, The VIP tour is a speial ticket, and can not be combined with other offers.

The Buy a Day get a Year prmotion is over now, and it wouldnt apply anyway.

$99 is usually to help increase sales. If you go during the summer, you will not find this price, or you are going to be darn lucky. Call in advance these tours sell out.

The $79 Front of the Line Director's Pass is also a great alternative. And it is definitely worth the price. Being able to personally meet and have your pictures taken with the stars after the show creates some great moments to share in the future. For example, I'm a huge Batman fan and didn't realize that the Helen stunt lady was the stunt double in Birds of Prey. You learn all this up front and personal stuff after each attraction. With the animal show, I was able to have my picture taken with the "mother dog" that starred in 101 dalmations, etc. They even let you pet them.

Then being able to go to the "Front of the Line" is also a great deal.

My main quam with Universal is that they open the lower lot LATE and close it EARLY. This is highly annoying. I can't believe they are applying Disney tactics. It personally ruined our ability to properly plan our day.

It was NOT a Buy a day get a year fee type pass...it was a FULL no restrictions pass and we didn't have to complain...it was a simple (Do we get a pass with this $99? answer: "Yes you do....it will strt the next time you visit up to 8 mths from now"...We went in April for the VIP and didn't get back untill October when they started the Annual for ther next full (current) year...no restrictions.

I dont know what you got then. That is not the pass that is issued with the VIP pass.

All passes are good for a year from the date purchased. I have never heard of a pass ebing good for only 8 months. But if thats what you got, then I guess thats good for you. Enjoy it.

Im just letting people know that this was a one time odd thing. VIP is a specialty product and you DO NOT get an unrestricted pass for the year. The VIP and Annual Pass are seperate and can not be combined for one low price. If you have any questions , contact Guest Relations directly to be sure.

During one of the initial runs of "Buy a Day, Get a Year" the pass was good from the date of processing, not the date of purchase, and you had a long time to turn the ticket into a pass. That must be what DoodleDuck is referring to. Still don't know how he got a pass without blackout days though, since those aren't part of the BDGY promotions.

And you can't get a CAP with the VIP tour except during BDGY--right now, though, you can get the Endless Summer pass. VIP doesn't go for $99 anymore, though, not since the regular price went to $129.

The VIP tour is excellent, by the way, but definitely go during the week and call for reservations during the summer.

Correction...it DOES have 2 (two) Blackout days...June 28th and 29th!

Why I wonder??? What are those days?

Funny thing is those are the days we will be staying in North Hollywood for the weekend and had planned to go.
Oh well.

As to the other stuff...maybe they issued us the wrong pass or something....but those are the only two blackout days I noted.

As to the 8 mths...we went in April and was told that we had untill Nove 15th (give or take a day) to validate the passes.

???

Sounds like you were given misinforamtion. There is no such pass that only has 2 blackout days.

There is the regular CAP, which was also given out during buy a day get a year. This pass had an expiration date, such as Nov 15th, when you needed to take your photo for the permanent pass that they issue you.

There is the Deluxe- Which has no blackout days, which doesnt stipulate a date to take the photo by.

IM confused... I would take your pass into Guest Relations and have them give the you the correct information, this way you dont end up there ona day you cant use the pass.

Good luck and enjoy.

As far as June 28th/29th goes....all wekkends in the summer are blacked out. Thats one of them. Its incredibly busy.

Have fun though.
