DisneyFan25863 06-04-2003, 06:35 AM Close any extra programs running by using the CTRL-ALT-DELETE command. Add ram. Bill Catherall 06-04-2003, 08:41 AM 128MB of RAM...<$50. A usable computer...priceless. :geek: mousketeer 06-04-2003, 03:36 PM I've closed virtually every program on CTL-ALT-DEL and am still running at 78%?? Help:mad: Bill Catherall 06-04-2003, 03:44 PM How much RAM do you have? What's the processor speed? Wizard69 06-04-2003, 04:59 PM Why do u want to boost your resources Are you getting error messages? While Ctrl-Alt-Delete will remove system resources temporarily, to remove them perminately, you need to run msconfig and uncheck whichever programs you don't want to run in the background (If you are nontechnical, have a technical person help you). This will prevent them from loading up each time you reboot your computer. mousketeer 06-04-2003, 06:26 PM Originally posted by Bill Catherall How much RAM do you have? What's the processor speed? I bought a friend of mine a GB of RAM for their birthday cause thier computer was seriously dragging behind and it improved things dramatically! I am in NO way implying that you need that much RAM, they do video editing so they really needed it. 128 or even 256 should be sufficent for you. Wizard69 06-04-2003, 11:05 PM I concur times 3! 64MB is BARE MINIMUM ram for a system. And, that is mainly if you are only using the computer for surfing the net. I would get more ram. |
