When I was at DL last summer, they were testing a height check system with color coded bracelets which allowed kids to be meaured only once and then just show them at the entrace to various rides.

Sadly, that was the last time I was there.

Are they now using this system or decide not to go with it?

I just read recently that they were just testing out the system and decided not to go with so they are no longer using. I can't remember for the life of me where I read it though.

When we were there in April they were still using the system, but when we were there in May they weren't.

I noticed in November and April though that even with the bracelets they still took the time to stop and measure the kids at most attractions. In fact, in NOv. we took my 4 year old on Star Tours and he liked it so we went to go back on it the next day and they wouldn't let him on it. He was tall enough according to the bracelet and all the other 40 inch rides but right under at the Star Tours line, go figure.

They should just measure them at the entrance, put a bracelt on, and let that be that.

The only thing with that is that it would back up the line soooo much, especially on a busy day. People would not want to wait in the line and would complain about the line and probably just skip it.

We just got all new height check signs at Indy. Not sure if that was planned or a result of a series (3) of height check related guest complaints one day recently. They're decently made, so I'm guessing they were planned. The nice thing is now there's one all the way out at the very front of the queue (to the right side), so the guests don't have to walk all the way in to the line splitting area and block traffic while measuring.

Still amazes me what ppl will try to pull. We check heights in no less than 3 places along the line. People claim they were measured at the last point but when you measure again, the kid's like an INCH too short! And sorry, our height signs were not THAT far off.

Also makes me mad when the kid's like 5 inches too short and the parent tries to beg or negotiate with you. They give all sorts of excuses, and it's like, "No, this ride is designed for people in a certain height range, until your child is IN that height range, it is not safe for them to ride, we are not legally ALLOWED to let them ride, and even if I said yes, the next CM is going to stop you anyway."

In addition to new height check posts, (in front of the snake, at the front of the rope for the fastpass queue, in front of fastpass distribution, next to the elevator, and right in the middle of the station, mounted on an unnecessarily large wooden crate) Indy also got some new warning signs; and some were moved around for better guest visibility. You can tell a new sign by the new design at the bottom and "Must Transfer" next to the wheelchair symbol. And on top of that, now we spiel every 10 minutes over the queue speakers reminding guests of the height restriction. (I really hope this is temporary) And guests still claim to not know about the height restriction.

Its selective hearing/seeing/reading.

Whats funny is when parents say, I will sign a waiver!!!!

Um, ok.... because CMs have those in the pockets to hand out, and because that would be so legal. Could you imagine... sure sign this waiver... kid gets hurt... Im suing...... you cant sue, you signed the "waiver" remember!!!!!

I see parents who try everything and it amazes me..... all in due time... thats part of being a kid.

I didn't see any bracelet systems last weekend at the parks, but they did put a sticker on my son (39.9999999 inches) at one attraction that seemed to indicate that he had been checked and was tall enough to ride. The other CMs looked at the sticker, and didn't recheck him.

LegoLand does this, and I think it's the best system - your kid gets checked ONCE, and they don't check again, unless it's really obvious that you've switched wrist bands.

As nice as the bracelets would have been to have as a permanent thing, I have to say that I am glad they finally made a decision.

As much as my daughters loved getting and wearing the bracelets, it started getting pointless to have them checked. It always seemed that my oldest was tall enough for Soarin' and Space Mountain at the bracelet check, but too short at the actual ride!

Personally I don't think the system worked so I'm pleased they didn't continue it.

Side note, just as soon as my dd is tall enough to ride Indy there will be a trip within minutes to Disney (okay, just a joke). I can't wait for her to ride it. My son will take much much longer to ride I'm afraid, that day will be a FAMILY celebration because we'll never have to split up again!
