From a USA Today article online. (http://travel.usatoday.com/cruises/post/2011/05/disney-fantasy-cruise-ship-line-dream-mickey-mouse/171056/1?csp=fbcruise)

<snip>
Disney's next cruise ship, the Disney Fantasy, will boast a number of new features including an elaborate new dinner show, executives revealed today in a private briefing for a small group of journalists.
<snip>

<snip>
To be called "Animation Magic," the new dinner show will take place in the Animator's Palate restaurant on the Disney Fantasy and star an animated Mickey Mouse. The new show will be in addition to the Finding Nemo-themed experience involving a talking Crush that fills the Animator's Palate restaurant on the Disney Dream.
<snip>

<snip>
The new dinner show is one of about half a dozen new elements for the Disney Fantasy revealed today. Executives also showed off plans for a nighttime entertainment district on the ship that varies markedly from the one of the Disney Dream, and the line also plans a new show for the ship's main theater that has an Aladdin theme. Disney's Aladdin -- A Musical Spectacular, it'll be called.
<snip>

But the piece I liked reading the most was this:
<snip>
Lanzisero also announced that the atrium of the ship will feature a cast bronze statue of "Mademoiselle Minnie Mouse." In a Disney tradition, each of its ship has a single main character in its atrium that serves as a focal point for Disney fans.
<snip>

I'm confused though. In the article it states the Fantasy is a 2,500 passenger vessel. WTH? I thought the Wonder and Magic were 2,700 and that the Dream and Fantasy were more along the line of 4,000.

Anyone know anything I'm missing?

I think the article you mention may have an error in it re: guest capacity.

AVP just tweeted "Disney Fantasy will have a full Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique with Pirates League overlay for Pirates night."
@mouseplanet or @mouseplanetavp for those of you who tweet.

Getting so excited for the Fantasy! I know Karin is sailing it's maiden voyage, but I'll be happy to sailing it in late 2012!

Oh cool, I'm glad to see that there will be quite a few differences between the Fantasy and the Dream. That makes it easier to decide on the Fantasy cruise in 2013 ;)

Fairest...you are going to love watching it as it is being built. I really enjoying seeing the Dream come together and I almost cried when I watched it being floated out, LOL. But that was nothing in comparison to seeing it in person the first time!!!

Patti- I'm already so excited. Our TA emailed us (3 families) our courtesy holds and deposits/due dates. The other two families are going to put their deposits in and then I'm going to book mine through DVC on points. I might have to change staterooms, but hopefully we'll be int he same vicinity. We decided to use points for the boys and pay cash for us.

What staterooms are you looking at booking? I stayed in 4's on the Wonder and Dream and I'm afraid that I have set myself up. I going to go to a smaller room if we do the Fantasy since it will be just me and the kids and we don't need the extra bed. I need to start booking less expensive rooms if this addiction is going to continue. If we end up doing the Fantasy then that will put me at a Gold CC level....and of course then I will want to book another one once I am Gold, LOL.

We're booked in ocean view verandah rooms on deck 8. It's a bit more expensive, but with kids who still nap, I think it will be essential to have a balcony. I could go out and read while DS4 naps.

I do have a question you might be able to answer though, Patti! One of my friends is a previous DCL cruiser, but she was a minor on her last cruise. Does this qualify as a previous cruiser?

I can't cruise without the verandah either. I spend so much time out there and I just love it first thing in the morning. I have been spoiled with the category 4 rooms (since they are a little bigger) but I'm probably going to have to drop down to one of the other categories on the Fantasy since it will be just the 3 of us and I can't justify it. We were on Deck 7, mid ship (cat 4c) on the Dream and loved it. I think you will like Deck 8. I like the decks that have staterooms above them (less noise). We were on Deck 8 on the Wonder, but on that ship it is right below the pool deck and there was some noise from chairs being moved around, etc. Deck 8 on the Fantasy will only have staterooms above it.

Regarding the question, yes this will qualify her a repeat cruiser. All of us (kids included) were Silver members after our January cruise and my kids have their own CC number. My Mom also became a member on the second half of our B2B (so she received the lanyard at checkin). Your friend will be able to book her excursions at 90 days out instead of 75 (also Palo/Remy..if that is what it is called on the Fantasy, etc). If your reservations are linked, then I believe she will be able to book for you guys as well (as long as it is for the same excursion or Palo/Remy reservations, etc).

That is AWESOME Patti! Thank you. That is exactly the info I was looking for.
