DLP.info is reporting that Disneyland Park has clossed Autopia for good.Due to high cost. The attraction was only open for one half of the year anyway. But will this be a sign of things to come. Its come to no suprise that the WDS has been under performing since its opening of last year. And in these times budgets need to be cut.So is this just the begining. And will the park replace Autopia with a new attraction.Or will Autopia join attractions like the Skyway and Sub's.Only time will tell. And will DL and WDW follow DLP and close there Autopia attractions as well.

That's very sad, although the ride was shuttered when we were there last. I wonder if the difference in "car culture" in Europe vs the US had anything to do with it.

... the Disneyland Paris Autopia is suffering the same problems as Submarine Voyage at Disneyland suffered.

what bugs me about this is Discovery Mountain.

Discovery Mountain ( an attraction which would house several attractions including space mountain, the nautilus, a free fall ride, and more ) was supposed to be built but was moved to phase 2 of Euro Disneyland in order to get the Autopia built and after the park had financial problems, it was never built and only space mountain and the nautilus came of it. Now the attraction that prevented DM from being built is shuttering ?!

Grrrr !!!!!

Autopia was there from the begining (92 opening). I think the Discovery Moutain was more a blue sky project that died as soon as someone get a calculator... ;)

No, Discovery Mountain was planned for park opening but there was no room in the budget for it unless they cut out the Autopia. Thats why they moved it phase 2 and Eisner marked money for it. Sadly, the money he marked was future profits that never came.

What is Autopia like at DLP? Is it comparable to DL's or WDW's?
