Hi All! We finally leave for our trip to Disneyland on Sunday! We plan on buying a few food and drink items at the grocery store to keep in our motel room, and I'm wondering if you could give me some advice on a nice grocery store a convenient distance from the parks. We are flying into LAX and staying at the Candy Cane Inn. We usually shop Super Target here in Minnesota, so I'd love it if there was one nearby, but I don't want to get lost trying to find a store. We are planning on buying our own bottled water, micro popcorn, cereal, milk, snacks, etc. We just don't want to break the bank this time, and want to avoid eating so many fried meals out. Any advice or ideas appreciated. So excited :)

TrinaPulling out of the Candy Cane you will turn right. Go about a mile and on the left will be a Target with all of the above.
Just a note, Candy Cane has a very nice breakfast with various cereals (my daughter usually gets Froot Loops or Frosted Flakes, the other oatmeal) with milks, juices, muffins, bagels, bananas, apples, etc... We stay in the premium room, and I usually order a little more milk than we need to keep in the fridge for the evening.

Yes, the Target is at Harbor/Chapman which is just south on Harbor from you. However, it is in the process of being converted from a regular Target into a Super Target - so there's no grocery items there yet. You have to continue about 2+ miles down Harbor and just past Garden Grove Blvd there is an Albertson's supermarket if you're looking for real grocery type items (fruit, meat).

Wow, they took out the milk/cheese/food section? We usually went there for our pick ups, but didn't need to this last trip.
Here are a couple other options...
Turn right out of the Candy Cane, turn left on Chapman (light just before Target) about a 1/2 mile there is an Albertsons on the left.
Another option, turn right out of Candy Cane and move over to make a U-Turn, go back up Harbor to Lincoln, turn right, and about a 1/2 mile on the right is a Von's.
And finally, turn right out of Candy Cane and move over to make a U-Turn, go back up Harbor about 5 miles, there will be a Target on the left at Harbor and Orangethorpe.

Thanks so much! I know even the tiniest and oldest Targets have milk, but maybe since they are renovating they took all that out? I am spoiled by my giant Target stores here...one stop shopping is great! But I can handle stopping off at the grocery store too...I really appreciate the directions, this will save me some time and make our trip more relaxing knowing we don't have too far to go for the necessities. Thanks again :)

The grocery stores in the area are:
www.vons.com
www.food4less.com
www.ralphs.com
There is also a Costco and a Henry's Farmer's Market
You can go on any of their websites and get a map of their local stores.

No, sorry to confuse, the target still has the same packaged stuff, like frozen foods, bread, deli meat chips soda wine cnady cereal milk cookies. Just no fresh food like fruit or steaks.

We are planning on buying our own bottled water, micro popcorn, cereal, milk, snacks, etc. Just a note, are you in a premium room? The other rooms do not have a microwave in them.

We are not in a premium room, but I read that there is a "community" microwave in or around the lobby? We've never stayed at Candy Cane, and we were reluctant because of the lack of in-room microwave, but figured my son could get his popcorn fix if he's desperate enough to walk down to the lobby to pop it :)

Hi, there is a Food for less on 1616 W Katella Ave. Its about 1.50 miles.I have been to this grocery store and they have everything you need for your Disney trip.Their prices are pretty decent and/or cheap compared to the smaller convenience stores. Here's a link with the directions and map to get to and from the hotel you are staying at.Its very easy to get there. http://services.food4less.com/StoreLocator/StoreDirections.aspx?recordId=70400310

We've had excellent service from Vons delivery. Order online before you leave home, pay, and it shows up in a two hour time frame window that you choose. Love it!

Just remember when shopping, the fridges are small. You aren't going to get a half gallon of milk in there, buy quarts or pints.

We use the Food 4 less. But someone else mentioned Von's delivery, the first order is free with I believe a $50 minimum. You can look around their website to see about what your total would be and see if that would be more convient than going out.
If you are coming from LAX there is also a Wal mart a couple of exits before Disneyland,I am drawing a blank on the exit name.
