I've been charged with figuring out how to host a discussion board for our high school. I'm not sure where to start! Can you point me in the right direction?

I think we want to host it off site, to avoid traffic on our server.
I'm worried that posting off site will guide students toward less appropriate boards that may be hosted at the same location.
I know we don't want to spend a lot of money.
I know that I need to be able to moderate/edit posts that aren't school appropriate, and I need to block profanity automatically.

Any help you could provide will be much appreciated!

But that might lead to students finding other inappropriate boards. But a student looking for such things will find them anyway. There's no stopping them.

With ezboard you can have it for free, but you'll have to put up with a lot of pop-up ads and banner ads. But their prices are very reasonable.
