My sister and I did a 'progressive' dinner one time. It didn't quite work as planned, but it was yummy.

We had Cocktails at Wilderness Lodge, salads and entrees at Narcoossees and dessert at California Grill. The other two on the same reservation were eating offsite that day (they went to Daytona Speedway) so we were able to make 2 2-people ADRs to make this work. Not sure how easily it could be done now, with the changes they've made in the ADR system.

What the heck is a "food crawl"?

What the heck is a "food crawl"?

I assumed similar to a pub crawl, but with food, not beer.

Lol, what the heck is a pub crawl?

You must have led a sheltered young-adult hood. :crying:

A pub crawl is where you go to a number of different pubs/drinking establishments in a day. Having a drink or two (or more) at each location. By the end of the evening, you're crawling between them. Depending on the city, some may even have 'planned' events and buses between locations.

More info, at the ever helpful wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pub_crawl

So basically, the OP is asking - if you were to put together an eating session (aka meal) by going to different locations in WDW for different items - where would you go/what would you have.

Sort of asking you to put together a 'best of' meal.

There are many different variations on a pub crawl, but it is usually when a group of people go from pub to pub, drinking accordingly.
Some people do it like a progressive dinner where you try the house speciality or something "different."
Some people also do a "Eating (or drinking) around the world" where you stop at each country around World Showcase eating and/or drinking something from that country. Needless to say that you can get seriously stuffed, and possibly pretty tipsy by doing such.

ETA: Once again - Drince beats me to it. :)

Especially easy to do at the World Showcase-so many quick service options. Last July, I had a few hours to myself, and I had chocolate mousse from the bakery in France for lunch and a frozen Grand Marnier drink. If I had not had a big dinner planned, I can imagine grabbing a nosh at a couple other countries.

I really think this should be a combo meal available via the DDP, but that is just me. :)

We've definitely made a food crawl out of the Food and Wine Fest, but that's pretty obvious.....Hmm....I'd like a soup crawl.....Canadian Cheese, French Onion, and Leek and Potato.....I know that's lame, but I LOVE a good soup!

Consider me educated! :D While I enjoy the occassional lager, I'm not a big drinker. Food, however, is a different story; I'd "crawl" 10 miles for a good meal, 20 if someone else is paying.

I did NOT say I participate in them now!!! (Actually, I was pretty straight-laced in the prime age for that, so I don't think I participated in them then, either!)

I got a really good lager last weekend that the 'beer person' at Whole Foods recommended. It was a full sail LTD bottling - I think number 5. The label (and the beer lady) said it was the lager for those who like ambers - and it really was. Oh, wait, a lager that tastes like an amber wouldn't appeal to someone who likes lagers. Never mind.

You can do it.

In August they didn't have a 4 top ressie for Sci-Fi, but they did have 2 2-tops. We are in 2 different rooms, but I didn't feel like changing the reservation numbers for the hotel rooms so I just booked 2 different reservations for 2 10 minutes apart from each other at Sci-Fi. I did put it under 2 different names though.

and then of course there is also the "Monorail Crawl" Pete--where you stop at each hotel (Poly, GF and Contemporary) on the monorail line and have a drink (or two) in their bars. Just wanted to make sure you were fully informed! :-)

No, no, no, that sounds good; what's the name though? Full Sail? Number 5? Please to be explaining. I like anything amber and darker, the "maltier" the better; I like that "nutty" after-note. Sam Adams is a good stand-by, but I'm always on the lookout. I'm drinking Penn Dark right now (not at this exact moment, lol), and it's ever so good.

Full Sail is the brewery. They're out of Hood River, OR - so I was a little surprised to see it in the store in New Orleans. She may have even recommended it because I initially asked if they had any Widmer brews (out of Portland, OR) - I was specifically looking for Drop Top Amber, they named it that because it's a great beer for the same type of day that most people would enjoy cruising around in a convertible.

Full Sail is doing a LTD series of different brews - and this one I think was number 5 - it didn't appear to have a 'real' name - maybe they will name it if it gets good reviews? On the 6 pack holder it said that it was to convince amber drinkers to try a lager.

Yeah, everything except the tequila. I cannot get my head around the taste of that stuff! I have had steak tartare once. It might take a few more times to "like" it more than appreciate it!

You'd be surprised, there is some very good sipping tequila's that you can chase with a Bloody Mary type mixture and there is no bad taste like you might normally think of. And it is your more expensive stuff. Also, this stuff, really won't give you any type hangover effects. Tequila is just my DOC (Drink of Choice).
