View Full Version : Haunted Mansion Holiday Event
lisap 08-13-2001, 07:15 AM Just read AVP's article--This is the first special package event that has tempted me to go--the panel discussion sounds so cool esp. with my fave Danny Elfman being there. The 65.00 price for the least expensive package sounds very reasonable too. I'll just have to wait for AVP's report on the 2,000 dinner at the Mansion!
Does anyone know if these events take place during regular operating hours? Is anyone planning on going?
adriennek 08-13-2001, 08:22 AM I've been planning on going since January ;)

Dlandmom 08-13-2001, 09:53 AM Oh, man, I haven't had a chance to read AVP's article yet...(yet I seem to manage to find time to post on these boards...actually, I'm SUPPOSED to be really busy right now...which I sort of am...but I...can't...seem...to...resist...the urge to check out these boards!
I'll read the article, and then I'm surely going to try to go!
Come, fellow members of the PRNP, shall we make it a date?!:D ;)

That was Dlandmom posting under lisap's name!;)
Bwa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha yourself!;) :p :D
Alex and I really wanted to go to this event (and with Halloween being my favorite holiday... since it's my birthday... nudge nudge)...
Unfortunately, we will not be able to attend. We have scheduled our MouseAdventure event on the same weekend, and we cannot manage to attend both events. Our responsibility for organizing this event comes first, especially in light of the fact that we will only be back home for a week before MouseAdventure (we are taking a road trip to Marceline, Missouri to attend their Walt's 100th birthday event for MousePlanet coverage). Needless to say, I suffered a major bummer-outtage over this for a while. :( I had been SO looking forward to this event, especially since we missed the Villains event.
:sigh:
Y'all have fun!!
Dlandmom 08-13-2001, 12:05 PM Oh, Lani, that's too bad...but I think MouseAdventures will be equally exhilarating!
I'm really hoping to attend this Mansion event...and may even be able to DRAG my husband's BODY (over my dead body joke here...I know, it's a stretch!) to go with me since he likes both Burton and Elfman, and so do I!
Any thoughts on how to make sure we get the mailing...or do you know if we can go to the Main Street Disneyana store and just sign up there? I've received notifications in the past, but I've never been able to attend any, and I wonder if they've dropped me from the mailing list as a result of that.:(

Yea, laugh it up Mr. fancypants. ;)
blusilva 08-14-2001, 12:11 PM I am so there already. :)
Sheila 08-22-2001, 11:59 AM Oh, but that 6:00 a.m. wake-up time... Do civilized people actually get up at this time?? ;)
Well, I guess it's totally worth it for an event with Tim Burton and Danny Elfman.
I'll send over some virtual coffee to the rest of you who will be on the phones with bleary-eyed me on Friday.

I thought the same thing. So what if it's 9:00am on the east coast. Couldn't they do 9am here/noon in NY?
amynicole22 08-22-2001, 01:22 PM I'm planning on going with a couple Nightmare Before Christmas fanatic friends, if we can wake up early enough to get tix. Like Lisap said - this is the only special event that has interested us so far, probably because both Danny Elfman and Tim Burton are on the panel.
So, we'll (hopefully) see you there!
Sheila 08-22-2001, 02:02 PM Okay. So that's about five virtual coffees then. I guess I should throw in some danish too, unless someone wants to go out for KrispyKremes.... ;)

stan4d_steph 08-22-2001, 02:13 PM I'm going to pout in the corner because I won't be able to go. :p

blusilva 08-24-2001, 08:15 AM I got up at 5. I drank coffee. I dressed for work.
5:59, I started dialing. And redialing. I haven't stopped since and it's <glances at phone> 9:20.
Argh.
I didn't realize that this would be as bad as trying to get tickets for Madonna.
