Ok- can anyone point me in the right direction?

I'm looking to create a simple web page, with pictures and information regarding a small business I am starting. I know very little about the web and whatnot, but I'm a fast learner.

I don't want to invest a lot of money on a program like Front Page, I do have Corel Draw 11, but am not that familiar with it.

I want my own URL, no tripod or yahoo or such, because I need to advertise my web address.

What would be ideal is a host who I can design my own page from templates and upload my .jpg pictures, with my own web address and have an email account @my web address.

I hope I make sense.

Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Okeyday. This is right up my alley ;)

For an address, you will also need a Hosting Provider. I recommend IPowerWeb (http://www.ipowerweb.com) for $100.00 a year you get CGI, PHP, 300 e-mail, and a free address. Once you have that set up, you could go in 2 directions. You could use their webpage creator (which is actually very good), or you could degisn a page with Word or Corel.

Once that is done, you have to upload everything to your server. You can do this by getting a FTP program such as FREEFTP (http://members.aol.com/brandyware/freeftp.htm) .

After that, you are all ready to go!

(note, if you would like to see some example coding, go HERE (http://www.herron-family.com), click "VIEW" in IE explore, then click "SOURCE")

You can also use the built in web page designers that come with Netscape and Explorer.

As far as hosts go, I use hostsave.com - but I'm not all that thrilled with them. I've heard fabulous things about dreamhost and I think fatcow too.

Before you sign up, go to google groups and type in the hosts name. Some hosts are havens for spammers and, as a result, you will be blacklisted from many ISP's email systems if you sign up with them.
