Forget flooding -- the real concern is earthquakes. Tokyo Disney Resort is right on Tokyo Bay, and Tokyo has been overdue for "its every-75-years-big one" Kanto daishinsai earthquake by about 10 years (if I'm doing my math right). Remember the really nasty Kobe earthquake Japan had a few years ago? The Kanto Plain (where Tokyo lies) has a pretty major one every so many decades (kind of like San Francisco in that way), and it's seriously overdue.

Tokyo Bay is ringed with huge oil tanks and such... I have no idea what sort of countermeasures the resort has set up, though.

You may be interested in the type of insurance coverage Oriental Land Company has for the Tokyo Disney Resort in the event of a disaster like an earthquake. Follow the link below...

Very interesting, Joe. Thanks for the link to the article.

I once heard that Disneyland, in the event of a major catastrophe, would hold, house and feed its guests for up to three days. I don't know if that's true, but I'd be interested to see what sorts of disaster management plans the parks have established.

Yes there is an IASW attraction at Tokyo Disneyland. It is located in Fantasyland between the "Queen of Hearts Banquet Hall" and "Pooh Corner" "Pooh's Hunny Hunt"
