Just wondering if anyone has been to both parks??? We were in Orlando in December and wanted to know what the similarities and differences are????? We are planning a trip to California in July. Should we make USH a must see???

We've been to both, although it's been about 5 years since visiting USH, but here's the main differences:
USF is all one level, while USH is on two levels. A huge set of escalators take you down to the lower level and back up again. The upper level is where you enter and has most of the stage shows and some attractions, while the lower level has the remainder of the attractions.
The biggest difference at USH, though, is the Tram Tour. This tour will take you through the Universal Studios backlot, where you experience Jaws, King Kong and Earthquake as part of the tram tour, instead of them being separate attractions in Florida (plus Kong is still alive and kicking...er, screaming in Hollywood.)
USF has attractions unique to them: Jimmy Neutron, Men In Black, Twister to name a few. They also still have ET, while that has been closed at USH. Both have the Animal Actors stage show, Jurassic Park (although it's at IOA in Orlando) and Back to the Future: The Ride. Florida still has its Western Stunt Show, while Hollywood closed theirs. However USH has the Waterworld Stunt Show and Backdraft, which is one of the BEST attractions I've ever been in and, IMHO, puts Twister to shame in almost every way. The flames, the heat and the jaw-"dropping" finale are just incredible and must be experienced.
That's the two-bit overview. I'm sure there's lots more I'm missing. USH is, overall, a smaller park, but there's plenty to keep one busy for a day. If you enjoy the "Hollywood" theme, then I would recommend going, especially if you've never been thre before. If for no other reasons than Backdraft and the Backlot Tour.
Enjoy!
