I was looking at the ticket guide for Tokyo on MP and it looks to me that you have to buy A-E tickets for each ride, like how Disneyland use to be. Is this true?

I think so. I think you can also buy a higher-priced admission ticket that includes the rides.

You may be right....maybe that is why the annual pass for one park costs more than a two-park pass for Disneyland Resort!

When I visited TDL in August 1998 they were still selling individual attraction tickets. However, they also had the regular passports that we are used to in the U.S.

Individual attraction tickets ended at Tokyo Disneyland last March. Only one-day or multiple-day passports are available for unlimited use of attractions "except the shooting gallery". The same goes for Tokyo DisneySea. Also, the actual size of the attraction tickets has changed to about half the size.

did I spell that right? Any way we can get an idea of attendance levels at TDS right now on a daily basis? Just to compare with another theme parks opening.;)

In that case word out to MousePlanet Admins. You need to change your info on the tickets page for Tokyo...especially since you will be getting alot more traffic there with this TDS coverage.

Just to follow up on the discussions.

TDL has perhaps the most complex media setup of any theme park in the world.

You can buy the A-E tickets and use them like you used to at Disneyland/WDW.

You can also buy an all park ticket, although there are several levels which allow you access for the whole day, or after a certain time, or on certain days.

You can also buy various annual passports, again with a variety of options for times to be allowed in the park.

And of course I'm sure once DisneySeas is officially open they will add a whole new layer of media <G>.

Check the planning guide section of the Tokyo part of Mouseplanet and we've more or less explained how it works (not that anyone fully understands it) :)

I stand corrected. OLC did change the ticket policy and I'll be posting an update.

As expected it's a little odd.

They still have the various special passports (after 4pm, certain days only, etc).

They also have 2 3 and 4 day passports.

The 2 day passport allows you into one park each day (TDL or TDS)

The 3 and 4 day passes allow you into one park on days 1 and 2 and then both parks on days 3 and 4.

So in other words Day 1 would be TDL Day 2 would be TDS and days 3 and 4 would be park hopping days.

Actually not an entirely bad system.
