Okay.....today I just lost a beloved friend of mine :( Mr. 4 year old IBM thinkpad's battery finally bit the dust and died :(. To replace the battery is $200. So I leave you with a question, oh noble Mousepadders. Should I revive lappie or trade him in for a shiney new laptop? :confused: :confused:

Well, I figure that the laptop is worth about $300 w/o battery, so I could trade it in and buy one of those $750 ones for about $500. I have $300 in savings that I have accumlated over the years for a time like this. So I really could buy a new laptop for about $200. ;)

Perhaps you should see what the going rate is, they always go on the low side with a trade in on anything. Cars, books,...

Wow! Thanks Andrew! Those same models were selling at IBM.com for $199! :eek:

www.batteries.com i believe is the site for some aftermarket batteries....

i would say trade it in, laptops are becoming so cheap now adays, might as well trade up....
