Thanks for the comments. The three American CM's that worked that I met who worked in Guest Control had their family names on their name tag. This is just like any other "regular" CM working for Oriental Land Company and as is custom in Japan. However, the few other artists, musicians, etc. had the first names on the tags. ...P.S. I overheard some CM's say the crowd today was about 30,000 at TDS! Ouch! It was pretty tight in some places.

Hey JoeInJpn- good to see you here!

As an interesting bit of trivia for Tokyo Disney fans out there: If their family name is on their name tag, they are employees of the Oriental Land Company. If their first name is on their nametag, then they are either employees of Walt Disney Imagineering Japan, Walt Disney Entertainment, or Walt Disney Attractions Japan. Further, if their names are written in blue letters, they are with the operations team, and if it is in red letters, then they are on the Tokyo DisneySea construction/design team. So, if you see any of those red-lettered first-name nametags out there in TDS, be sure to stop them and let them know how much all of their hard work is appreciated!

Yes- you are absolutely right- almost 30K yesterday. The biggest day (except today is also supposed to be around the same). As for capacity, OLC says around 50 thousand is full capacity, but as you know since you have walked in the park, things can get reeeeeeeealllllllly tight- especially around Mermaid Lagoon. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they lower that number in order to improve the guest experience.

Can you really predict the opening crowds based on the previews?

Aren't preview people all getting in free?

And didn't DCA have huge preview crowds, then head south once people had to start paying?

Good points, but there is already some evidence that this opening is going to be big:

According to the Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta website, the entire month of September is already completely sold out (with the exception of 4 days).

That is a 500+ room, sold out almost every day as of today, and there still hasn't been any Disney-produced Tokyo DisneySea advertising on TV or radio in Japan yet!

If that weren't enough, the Disney Ambassador hotel is also filling up at an alarming rate for the month of September, as well.

All signs look pretty huge....

I would think that if he greenlighted some of the TDS in to DCA, it would help make DCA a success and therefore entitle him to his bonus.

Eisner got his bonus by saving money, almost anything built at TDS would be too much if it was built in DCA, they would have to eliminate DTD and anti-walt couldn't bear to see his cash cow disapear.
