HB Tigger Fan 04-23-2003, 10:48 PM YES!!!!! We wants the Fez Head!!!!!!!!!!!
innerSpaceman 04-24-2003, 12:34 PM A FezHead emoticon is clearly necessary for proper and expressive MousePad communications.
Having become symbolic of so many Disneyland, MouseAdventure and Aladdin-related sentiments and complex thought structures, the Fez-wearing emoticon would enable Padders to exchange ideas more expediently, and with greater understanding and tolerance for each other, and for all mankind.
I vote YES.
DisneyFan25863 04-24-2003, 03:31 PM Even though I'm too young to vote, I say YES! ;)
MonorailMan 04-24-2003, 04:17 PM I say Yez! I mean Yes! on the Fez! :D
Alex S. 04-25-2003, 12:10 PM We're discussing it.
I'm mostly sitting it out because, personally, I hate all smileys and think the world would be a better place without. Nothing makes me scroll past a post faster than seeing more than two of the darn things.
But I'm mostly alone in that view.
We'll let you know when a decision is made.

An emoticonless post is like.............a book.
:) :D  Did you see that? Alex just scrolled past my post.
Alex S. 04-25-2003, 01:02 PM This post here so that I can scroll past the previous one.
Andrew 04-25-2003, 01:14 PM I have a question. Emoticons are supposed to be a "shortcut" for expressing an emotion (e.g. happy, sad, confused), thus the name. What does the fez head "mean"?

So if I want to say something I don't want you to read all I have to do is surround it with smilies?
I agree that emoticons have a purpose of conveing a "meaning" or "emotion" that can't be easily convied in print. So while the Fez head is cute, unless it has a meaning that the majority of the pad would get, I see no use in it.
I get the connection, just not the emmoticon meaning. Now "FZ" for "Fez Head" may work as well.
By the way, I've seen people post with home-made emoticons before. Is that ok? I didn't see any reprimand, so I assume it is. Just wondering.........

It means you love Aladdin and riding Autopia !
It's a step above " :D " . It's like supercalifragilisticexpialidocious !
I guess you could say that this particular emoticon represents a happy mousepadder since wearing a fez and having an AP is loosely associated w/ being a member of mousepad.

The Fez Head has a number of nuanced meanings:
It can mean "cool" - but a silly, maybe geeky kind of forced "coolness". So the "Fonz" would deserve the standard sunglasses "cool" emoticon. Richie Cunningham trying to be the Fonz, would get the Fez Head.
So, a bunch of Disney Geeks, doing Disney-geeky-things would qualify for Fez-headed coolness - an example being getting abunch of MPers to ride Autopia while wearing Fez.
There is also the Aladdin & Jasmine tie-in as Zapppop mentioned above. so you could say, the new Jasmine is hot, I give her 5 Fez heads (thus ensuring that Alex skips over the rest of the post as you further discuss her hotness)
Another important feature would be that the Fez Head, would be a Mouse Planet exclusive, so anyone with a Fez Headed post would have to come to MP to fully realize the power of this communicative tool.

Ghoulish Delight 04-26-2003, 04:14 PM New motion.
What about a crab head!!
cemeinke 04-26-2003, 04:25 PM I'd pass on the Crab head - but a spooky face would be cool - like the Skull on IM
