Blaster is pretty much a step backwards in the innovation dept. Just a carny 'TUB' ride and not too exciting or marginally fun.
Easter Sunday was just a walk on and not generating much interest.
The theming of this area near the Technic Project X coaster is a bit off as it now incorporates a Sports themed diner and a VERY cheezy 'sports area complete with a climbing wall at $6 a climb.
The good side of it is that there are games for the tykes to play with basketballs and soccer balls etc. that are FREE to play.

The Washington DC area is almost complete. Looks brand spankin' new with BRIGHT red buildings and fresh asfault streets.

For the first time ran into more than a few MCs that didn't know their watchamacallit from their whozits.

Doodle--what is the age range on Blaster would you guesstimate?
And I can't wait to see the new DC area :) My favorite part of miniland!

Age range on Blaster, not in my knowledge range. :-)
There were little guys on it with parents...it's a very mild ride unless you CHOOSE to make it spin fast. Its ride path is very similar to DLs Lady Bug...but a bit larger tub and a different ride in that you can spin it like the Tea Cups...though only two or three tubs were spinning freely...ours would not, no matter how hard I tried to move the wheel. But it's a very old fashioned amusement park ride...been around for ages.
If one (any one) is subject to to a quezy stomach from spinning rides...STAY OFF. Of course the SECRET to ANY spinner ride is to focus on a center point...like the middle of the wheel used to spin the vehicle...do NOT take your eyes off that point and you wont get queazy.

The height requirement is 42 inches.

We rode the Bionicle Blaster ride 3 times today, 2 consecutively. We had a 'Blast' riding it. The girl operating the ride started us out slowly and then yelled "scream if you want to go faster", to which we all responded appropriately and she sped up the ride. It was loads of fun for us!:D

The Sports Zone was fun for a bit. Unfortunately it's already falling apart! The nets behind the soccer goalie are ragged looking and appeared to have been knotted in some areas as a quick fix. The football toss game already had a piece broken off of one of the receivers fingers and when we came back later in the day, one of the hoops you threw the football through was broken! It's no wonder it took them so little time to throw this attraction together:( . Both of my kids liked the new area but it's something that I don't think we'll stop by everytime we go.

...What does this tub thingy have to do with Legos?

Oh, And doesn't Legoland already have a Washington D.C. area in Miniland?
