Geeze, they just keep making Will a bigger and bigger jerk, don't they? (Though it also continues to feel like they just make up the characterizations from scratch each week.)

Kurt completely disappeared into his costume (took me a while to realize it was him).

The best line (I'm going as a peanut allergy) was unfortunately in the first minute.

The Tinkerteen is convinced the opening lips are Quinn's.

Just finished watching it, and I actually said, "I don't really like Will anymore." I'm not a huge fan of Rocky Horror, but I thought this episode was fun. It was great getting to hear Emma sing! Becky is really cracking me up. Her chocolate line took me completely by surprise -- very funny! :p

OK, so whose lips were at the beginning? The husband said Rachel, but someone else I read said Santana. The voice did sort of sound like Rachel's.

I was sure they were Mercedes.

I really, really, really dislike Glee. But I was a member of a Rocky floorshow cast for thirteen years. So I made myself watch the Rocky ep.

Good God.

* Way to under-utilize Bostwick and Meat Loaf, guys. They are both talented actors and that plot line never got resolved, they just flew in with a premise and then I guess they had another appointment, because they never came back.

* Sure, it's totally plausible that an administrator's boyfriend would guest-star in a production of a high-school show choir. I am quite sure that happens all the time.

* It's completely appropriate that the said choir's teacher would then take a role in said production, especially opposite a teenage girl (and, as they staged it, TWO girls) in a role that would require her to throw herself at him in a sexual frenzy.

* Mention was made of "trying to acquire the performance rights" to the show, but they were performing the film version (and it sounded like the film arrangements), not the stage version. I...what?

*But hey, I bet it only takes a few days to get those performance rights from Samuel French, I am sure they will be granted well before the show goes into production, right? And they're cheap, too!

* Will asks to practice "Toucha" with Emma. His actual song is "Sword of Damocles". I get that they wanted to exploit the tension between them but that could have been written more plausibly, and in a way that didn't make me think "hmm, on stage this will be happening with a teenage girl, THAT'S APPROPRIATE."

*God, please just give me one costume designer who can create a "re-do" of the Sue Blane costumes that doesn't make Magenta look 1) ridiculous or 2) a victim of the Spirit Store.

* I can't even talk about the lyric re-writes. It's just too stupid.

* Sweet T did not work. Yes, Mercedes killed it, vocally. No, it still did not work. See also: lyric rewrites.

* Way to automatically shunt Artie into Dr. Scott's role, guys, sans any discussion. Nice.

* AAAAAND the ending. We've spent time and $ acquiring performance rights, creating really good scenery and props, getting permission from parents, putting together costumes, rehearsing and publicizing, but we're just going to scrap the whole business and DO THE SHOW JUST FOR US! EVERYONE GETS AN "A"! YAAAAAAAY!

Thanks. I feel better now.

It occurred to me this morning that Will learned a lesson in this episode: Don't use the kids to get back with whats her name.

Great. Except that is the exact same lesson he learned three weeks ago at the end of the Britney Spears episode.

Makes him even jerkier.

So I watch Glee every week and was looking forward to this episode cause I LOVE ROCKY!
I was extremely disappointed with the episode. It felt like they were more focused on the love triangle that is John Stamos, Will and the Counselor.

Lets hope next weeks episode is better.

I actually thought this week's episode was very good. They are showing us Will at his absolute worst. This is how we are going to se him most of this season I think. He is torn from the woman he loves, to the point he was willing to risk the glee club and do something completely inappropriate to get her back.

The songs fit in with the story, and I can see why to some very hardcore RHPS fans this might not be the most faithful recreation so I can understand the complaints.

But as a Glee fan I thought this episode really started to show us where some serious plot components are heading, and I love it. Plus the music itself was great (save for the lyrical changes).

Cool Runnings!

I am a "hardcore" Rocky fan, I guess, and the vast majority of my complaints had nothing to do with the "accuracy" of the production. I have seen the stage production numerous times and it can be done really, really well...that is the source material, after all.

In fact, I was disappointed that they didn't do much creatively with the material. The costumes, for the most part, were obvious copies of the film costumes, and the music was, I believe, the film arrangements. "Sweet T" also took place after "Time Warp", which is the order followed by the film, rather than most stage scripts.

Most of my complaints, as you can see by my list above, had everything to do with the writing of the episode. I am not a Glee fan to begin with (it amazes me, for example, that the "adults" of the show have relationships that are no more emotionally mature than those of the kids twenty years their junior) and this epsiode was the perfect storm of Awful.

Enjoyed another episode!

What I don't understand is why the glee kids always get in trouble for the littlest things and then the football bullies that beat up on them (kurt) and antagonize don't ever get sent to the office?

I get the feeling that that's how life is in many places. The kids who get bullied complain (as well they should) -- but they get labeled as troublemakers or whiners & then get into trouble for every little thing they do (partially because people are watching them more closely, and partly because administrators just want them to shut up). We keep hearing about administrators and teachers who say they know nothing about bullying going on in their schools -- but all the kids know what's going on. Administrators/teachers sometimes don't see because the bullies don't bully in front of teachers (unless they know the teachers will go along with the bullying) and because people often don't see what they don't want to see. In schools with very powerful athletic boosters, I can see administrators not wanting to risk ticking off the parents of their star football players even when the players are being insufferable little jerks.

Last night's episode got me crying twice. The first time was when Kurt was talking with the boys' school students about bullying & they were so completely supportive. The second time was when Will had his quiet locker room chat with the football coach. I also let out a big "whoop!!!" when "the kiss" was planted. DD was a little confused about why a boy was kissing another boy -- Mom and I were both there to explain that some boys like boys & that it's totally completely 100% ok and normal. We also explained that many people are mean and awful to boys who like boys -- and that it often turns out that the ones who are the most vocal/violent about it act that way because they like boys too & are scared that someone will find out.

The music from last night's show didn't stick with me at all. I was far more into the stories than the music, which is definitely a change.

I was so glad that they actually addressed issues of empathy and respecting other people's feelings, whether a student or a teacher. I was glad that they actually dealt with the "anatomy of a bully." In the particular case, Kurt was targeted because of the other boy's confusion and feelings about himself. I pointed out to my kids that someone who feels secure and comfortable in who they are doesn't need to bully someone else. A bully has to put another person down because they feel threatened by them, or because they don't feel good about themselves. I explained how a gay person can have a hard time in high school, it's difficult when you are just figuring out who you are, and it appears different from who everyone else is-last night's episode pointed out the truth-you are not as alone as it seems. And other people don't always turn out to be what they appear-whether it is someone with a very macho persona, or a whole class of people who "seem gay," but aren't. That wasn't a difficult conversation with the kids-explaining to my younger one about the students' "visioning technique" was hard, and when she said she didn't get it, I did not elaborate.

I was so proud of Kurt for finally standing up to that football moron! I know he still gets shoved but at least he knows really why now.

The girls mash-up was amazing! I loved the compilation!

I liked the episode as well and loved that Kurt now has someone on his side. :)

I wonder if they will have the football kid really admit his feelings for Kurt. I could actually see Kurt falling in love with him. I know that sounds crazy.

Yuck. I'd much rather he develop a relationship with the cute boy from the other school.

I watched Glee this week for the first time and was pretty impressed. I enjoyed the depth with which they explored the bullying issue, and I also really enjoyed the Beist storyline. As a woman who is quite muscular, I could relate to her on a certain level.

I watched the episode for Darren Criss, who played Blaine. I thought he was very good and I plan on continuing to watch the episodes he's in. I just heard yesterday that he's going to be a series regular for next season. So, kudos to him!

I don't think he actually has feelings for Kurt. I think he both resents and admires that Kurt feels comfortable enough to be out but he's too scared to be.
