Okay, I'm just kidding. But DCA has gotten tons of coverage here at Mouseplanet. But I want to know if MP is going to start any coverage of the DisneySea park, provided by its OWN sources, based in Tokyo. I don't know if the owner of MP reads these boards, but, Al, I hope you're aware that another Disney web site, Laughingplace.com, is kind of eating your lunch right now. They've had one contributor based in Japan who's been providing photos and text for many, many months about not just the new TDS but TDL too. And I won't even mention their recent interview of Pressler. Come on guys, get crackin'! I should add, and I know MP's boards are comparatively new, but when I read better conversations at LP.com about material that's originated from here, MP.com, I have to admit even their message-board posters are more in the thick of things.

Al, please don't allow MP to become the DCA of Disney web sites (and, sorry, but was the cluttered layout of this message board interface designed by the same folks who've given us DCA?)

It's nice to know that there are other Disney related websites out there. If one website doesn't have what you are looking for (I don't care too much about TDS or TDL so I don't know what MP has) then you can go to another site. That's great! Thanks for pointing that out MMFan, you are doing a great service and we appreciate it!

As far as the lackluster performance of these boards, I think many of us feel the shame you are implying. I feel bad, as though I have let you down. I for one commit to attempting to improve my performance, I will not let you down in the future I hope! I'm sorry, I'm getting choked up at my inadequacies . . . sniff. . . sniff. . . ok, I think its passing.

Can you be more specific with what you mean? I am a simple boy from springfield!

I agree with the DisneySea's part, though i do understand that it's not easy to find someone all the way across the Pacific, where the primary language is not English. LP did it, but either they already knew someone there or they had to pull alot of strings!

Ouch. In what way are the conversations better?--I feel we have a pretty literate group of people here at the Pad. We may not be at the Park every time the doors are open, but the type of people who post on this site come from many backgrounds and post on many varied and interesting subjects.

I don't read any other board, so your comments may be utterly true. Why don't you spend some time here and post some interesting topics and enlighten us all.

Those pictures of DisneySea(s?) look SO great. The picture of the Venice-like area look so cool especially. I really hope that Disneyland Resort gets that as it's third park (as long as it is WELL DONE!). Does anyone know how big DisneySea is? Could it be built here?

Damn. I knew TDS was gonna be a great park, but...damn.

From those pics, TDS makes IOA look like Six Flags.

It really honestly looks like the greatest park ever.

:( And to think, DisneySeas was originally going to be built in Long Beach. What did we get? DCA. Or, as Kermit the Frog put it on opening day for Muppet Vision 3D, "It's amazing how Disney took a parking lot and turned it into an entire state. Much the same way as California making a parking lot out of an entire state":p

I wish the OLC would go into the DLR with Disney. Then I want them to build DisneySea, as long as they put tons of money/thought into it.

Has anyone heard that Disney/OLC are more likely to hire Americans? I'm moving to Tokyo (jk) :)

I don't want to address the relative qualities of what MP, LP, MI, etc. produce (though I do think it is fair to say that you won't be seeing a Paul Pressler interview at MousePlanet any time soon and I think we have some good Tokyo stuff in the pipeline). Neither do I want to address the relative qualities of the contributions to each message board (though I encourage you MMFan to contribute more and see if the conversation becomes more to your liking).

However, if you have serious suggestions on how we can make this a better physical environment, please open a thread in the Administration forum and let us know about it.

I personally prefer the vB interface to the software used by LaughingPlace but if there is a feature you see over there that you miss over here, let us know. If you don't like the way things are layed out, let us know. I don't promise that all suggestions will be adopted, but all unmade suggestions will be ignored.

Also, since this is a discussion of MousePlanet and not Disney, I am going to move it to the appropriate forum.

I was wondering when you were going to do that!

Must have been started in the wrong place because of the confusing "cluttered" layout of the boards.;) Good luck in holding onto your lunch, I understand someone has been eating it without your permission.

I took so long to add another message to this thread that it's ended up in Mouseplanet purgatory! Okay, Alex, I have to admit the thrust of my original message was more appropriate for this section of your boards. But I really was more interested in MP's coverage of TDS and got off on a tangent about MP in general; wanted to initiate some compare and contrast assessments of TDS and DCA. But now that Al has indicated some photos of TDS will be a part of MP's features on Wednesday, Aug. 7, allow me to say, yeeeeaaaa!

As for the origins of my tangent, I think the 2 previous weeks of laughingplace have kind of grabbed my attention and impressed me more than what normally occurs when I visit that site (& like MP's, it's a good one too). But on many other occasions, Al's updates and rumors make MP the Disney-related site I turn to before the others.

And EandCDad, okay, I'll take the wisecracks in stride. I just hope they're not done in the same spirit that I've seen a former MP associate giving to Al on another Internet site. Yikes! What's that phrase about hell hath no fury like an ex-employee scorned?

That's fair, MMFan. I would like to reiterate though, that, in general, we are not looking to host debates about the relative qualities of MP and other Disney Web sites. If you want to raise concerns about the quality of MousePlanet and MousePad that is fine to a degree, but doing it in relation to other sites does not serve any great purpose.

It is quite possible that we're getting scooped by the other sites on TDS, we had several plans for coverage and few have worked out. I believe that we will redeem ourselves to a degree and hope that starting tomorrow you will agree.

I recommend that once you see the series we start tomorrow (I haven't seen it at all so I have no thoughts at this point) that you start the discussion you had intended in either the Disneyland Resort forum or the TDL forum, whichever seems most appropriate.

All in fun. Not sure what the vein is of the ex-employee, (I don't get around that much), but when someone says we (posters on this board) need to "get in the thick of things," how else do you respond?

"We are in the thick of things!" - sounds a little hollow
"Up yours" - sounds a little lowbrow (not that there's anything wrong with it)

So, I revert to what can be loosely translated as "your criticism has no validity in my eyes, so let's do kind of an over the top agreement which will heap disdain on the criticism but in a way that won't require Alex to glide in and tell me to try and be mature for the sake of the children."

You sound like a bright guy/gal, so I hope you join us regularly. (since it is hard to tell, that wasn't sarcastic).
